How should I deal with my sister and her boyfriend?

My sister's boyfriend was reading about a man who shot off his penis with a gun. My sister said that sounds like something I would do and laughed. I asked what she meant by that. Her boyfriend said because I was lacking. I asked how do you know that? She said i pee too. fast. I don't appreciate then joking like that. My stepmom and younger sister were in there yet said nothing to them to get them to stop. I felt like decking her boyfriend but I decided to walk away and let it go. They always do this. My stepmom, sister, and her boyfriend all have smart ass mouths. What should I do. Should I go off and tell them I don't appreciate what they are saying? Should I just take it? Or should I just stay to myself?

Plus they are the parents of my soon to be nephew. I feel like their smart assery is going to interfere in my relationship with my nephew.

  • If you think they are mature enough to listen then say something like "hey, I don't really appreciate these comments/remarks and would really appreciate it if you didn't say things like that to me because it bothers me."

    If you don't think they are mature enough to handle a conversation like that - then I would just ignore it because if you say something they just might make even more comments to bug you.

  • (from the way it sounds) If you tell them you don't appreciate what they are saying they will more than likely continue to disrespect you. To gain their respect, bring the heat and fight fire with fire. You will more than likely enjoy yourself and they will respect you. Surely you can outsmart your younger sister.
