Guys, Can a guy cum but stop himself after a drop or so and continue on, before cumming properly at the end of sex?

I'm seeing an older man at the moment (I'm 26, he's 48 - no judgement please!) and last night whilst mucking around, the following occurred: I gave him head and ended up riding him on top, not really vigorous, just kissing and a bit of sex before hopping off and giving him a bit more head. At this point, he blew in my mouth and it felt like a normal load amount to me. Yes, the TMI is cringe worthy I know. Right afterwards, he says 'I just came twice then' I said what? 'Yeah, inside you and then just now.' - meaning when I was on top of him. I panicked a little and he said he's just kidding. I thought he must be kidding because surely a man can't cum a little bit and stop the rest like that. But now I'm unsure. Is this possible? I'm definitely concerned, and the reason I mention his age is because I figure men that age aren't as likely to shoot a lot of cum and maybe I'm safe. So, was he joking or not?

  • Here's some info I got from my Human Sexuality class I took last semester:
    1.) There is a thing called a refractory period that guys have (and girls don't... hence they can have multiple orgasms in a row). It essentially is a 'cooldown' time in which a guy cannot ejaculate. However, they vary greatly from person to person-- some are a matter of a few minutes, some perhaps hours. The important thing to note, however, is that every guy has one.***

    2.) In a refractory period, a guy will lose his erection and will become unresponsive to stimulation. (Aka, he would have gone limp shortly after he ejaculated.)

    3.) I can't say for certain, but I've read other answers on this site before that said something like how a woman will actually feel if a man ejaculates inside of her.

    Given all that, I'm going to guess you would have noticed if he really ejaculated inside of you. He would have probably gone limp on you.

    ***That being said, some guys with a very small refractory period is seemingly like no refractory period. There have been cases of guys who can ejaculate twice in a row (given some minutes) and stay erect. I believe it is relatively rare.

    However, guys can control their penises to an extent, even when passing the 'point of no return.' There is a PC muscle that some can stop ejaculation to an extent. So technically, one can stop himself from ejaculating fully. From what I've gathered, it takes practice to strengthen the muscle.

    But what does all this mean for you?
    My conclusion: Chances are you are safe-- he probably didn't ejaculate inside of you. However, practicing safe sex is always a good idea (i. e. condom, birth control). There is still the risk he did.

    I'd estimate it a 90% or so that he didn't given all the factors.

Although if he did not pause for a bit after he supposedly came inside you I doubt he really did because it usually requires a guy to stop or slow down if they are going to stop themselves from cuming that way

    • Good point, he didn't seem like he did and I was the one who paused the action by hopping off. He wouldn't have intended to do it, if it happened I'm assuming it was an accident and he controlled it. I just didn't think the fellas could stop once it came on!
