Black Women - Why Do You Like White Men So Much?

Serious question.

Yes, I am a black guy. No, I am not ghetto. Yes, I have a college education. No, I don't sag and I speak proper. Lol... just trying to get that out of the way.

Anyway, I have noticed over the past year that more and more black women keep choosing white men.

Listen, I am all for interacial dating. I have done it, but I prefer black women. I just feel like a lot of black women these days are choosing white men because they are trying to escape "from their race" and don't want their babies to be born black.

People keep saying, "white men treat us better". I have treated all the women I have dated with respected, and I have been metaphorically "shit on" time and time again.

  • Well, I"m a black woman, and I think women like that who try to "run" from something are also disrespecting the white men they date, becuase you shouldn't treat somebody like a refuge camp, or something along that nature. Date white men becuase you generally will LOVE and RESPECT that man, and it's okay if white features are a preference. A man is a man. But to date out of their race for that reason you gave... they're quite immature.

    I find it sad that you had to express who you are, such as not being ghetto, talking properly, having degrees, etc as if those are key attributes that earn you the right to express this question.

    Honestly, I think the black race as a whole, whether male or female, have this problem, becuase what I always hear is that it's actually the black men who date outside of their race on an alarming rate than black women. In fact, I always hear that black men are more likely to date outside their race than any other type of man. As a black woman I always hear that nobody, not even our own men, want us, and you can blame that on our attitudes, how we look, etc. I don't have any proof of this; it's just something I keep hearing over the years.

    I do not agree that white men treat black men better. There's just NO way in the world to prove that. If you want to be treated like a human being, then wake up and start dating the right men. Date a man who's got his crap together instead of boy on the street who missed home training.

    However, I do believe there are tons of black women who truly love their men. They cry the loudest when a black man is in trouble. So...

  • I literally don't. White guys are my least preferred race to date. I just can't really connect with white people because most of them don't understand a single thing about me, my culture, and my lifestyle. I went to a pretty much all white school for a few years and it was like hell for me because I didn't fit in at all, and I constantly had to deal with unintentionally racist comments, and the constant questions about black people as if I'm the spokesperson for the black community. There's just a social disconnect. Honestly, I'm way more attracted to black guys lookswise as well.

    • look for white dudes who love rap... clearly indicative of a lack of racism in most cases and also indicative of at least a clue... My style is at least partially black... I love to wear flat bill caps for one thing, Dr. Dre is my hero. I can totally connect to black girls. There's a few of us out there, here and there. I'm also Buddhist-which led to a firm KNOWLEDGE of equality of not just all people, but all life. I listen to nearly all rap music, EMINEM (of course-he is a badass), Dre, 50 cent, little Wayne, BIG, Drake, etc... Style can clue you in a little-if they respect black style enough to adopt some of it, they clearly respect blacks and the culture. hope that helps at least give you some optimism on white boys ;)

    • @feminismisnarcissism I have little to no interest in white guys. I haven't met a single one so far that I'd be interested in dating. It has nothing to do with rap music or "flat billed caps" or stuff like that. Most of the people I went to school with just don't understand what life is like growing up outside the suburbs, in the bad parts of town, with your dad not around, and your mom struggling to keep the family afloat. Most of the people I went to school with don't understand why black girls don't like getting their hair wet, or understand the concept of weave, or why a lot of black girls don't have really long hair. Most of the people in my school believed that ALL black people liked fried chicken and watermelon and ate it multiple times a week. Most of the people in my school didn't ubderstand my slang so I had to alter the way I speak in school and at home just so they could understand me. It's the little things that add up and annoy me.

    • On a daily basis I would constantly get asked stupid ass questions about black people. Constantly explaining, answering questions, and correcting people is so annoying. I'd rather just date someone who understands me, rather than someone who I have to explain everything to.

  • I am from the Caribbean. Yes we do not care about or are anti mixed racial dating. But we are pro African American carribean or the broader term of Nubian. We love our black men. We love our black women. And we are not afraid or running away from our race. Ever.

  • Well brother I'm sorry to tell you but the black community is having some really big issues. I want to say it's men like you that black community needs, good leadership. I think that's where it starts for both man and women. The black community have such a bad rep I can understand why they want out. But I also see black man trying to date outside there race. Placing the blame on white people is not working time to make some changes.

  • It's irrelevant if non-White women, Black or otherwise, like White men or not. White men are never going to ask them out anyway, because the absolute majority of White men don't like non-White women in the first place.

    • Actually this is true. I was on Tinder recently... and there were a lot of black women with memes on their instagram saying how attractive mixed babies are. Like I said, black women don't want their children to be born black.
