I just heard this term used in a new essay by Rose McGowan, the actress known for her awards show dresses like the one below. Asked what she thought of cameras panning her body on the red carpet to show off her dress, she compared it to "visual rape", saying the Hollywood "machine" and its inane reporters are responsible for this treatment. It seems that wearing designer dresses at red carpet events can attract a lot of unwanted attention for actresses. She's certainly not the first to regard such looks as a form of rape.
Do you think this is true and that being looked at or photographed the wrong way is comparable to being raped? Why or why not?

If visual rape is a thing. The funny thing is that this lady above is basically raping everyone who looks at her.
How?
The image above needs to be censored cause she shows that much of herself, so basically she forces her "sex appeal" on everyone who look at her, thus she is visually raping people. Cause its against their will, people won't realise how much she is showing until you at least look at her. Visual exposure without consent. I think visual rape is a bit too much and is probably not a term an actual rape victim would use, having helped some of them. What the cameras are doing is no different that any male's instinctive reaction. It may not be PC, and I'm a fan of a lot of PC, but men are visual and when a woman wears a revealing dress, esp one as revealing as that, expecting people not to ogle is unrealistic, be it with a camera or not.
