My girlfriend started her period in my bed and stained my sheets, I tried telling her it was no big deal?

This morning I woke up to find my girlfriend curled up with her head on my shoulder and hand on my chest. I decided on letting her sleep there and stroking her hair. Minutes later she stirs, moving off me and groans while clutching her stomach. I didn't understand why she was clutching at her stomach in her sleep until I started to get up and saw a blood stain where she was previously sleeping. PAY ATTENTION TO THIS NEXT PART GIRLS! The thoughts that went through my head when I saw the stain were not of disgust or annoyance or anything that had to do with the sheets. I was thinking "aww poor babe, she's started her period and is getting cramps. I wonder what I can do to make her day a little better. Oh and I definitely want to skip track practice today and stay in the dorms and snuggle up with my favorite girl and maybe rub her tummy if her cramps get worse. Do I have any kind of food she craves in the fridge?" Suddenly, she woke up with a look of horror and terror. She manages to stutter out "ohmygosh Jason I'msosorry, I didn't know my period was coming! I didn't mean to ruin ur sheets I promise I'll wash them or replace them but pls pls PLS don't be upset or grossed out rn, I'm having the worst cramps and this is so embarrassing just pls deal with it rn I'm sorry" before she starts crying. It actually broke my heart how scared she was about my reaction towards finding out she started her period (something she can't control) on my sheets. Psa to all girls out there, no decent guy will ever blame u for a period related thing and most will help u out. managed to get her to stop crying through lots of reassurance and kisses. I told her to not give the sheets a second thought and to clean up and change into a pair of my sweats (love it when she wears my cloths!) She ends up falling Asleep in my arms BC the pain is so bad. Point Is why do girls always feel so apologetic and embarrassed? It's natural and you don't ever have to feel bad about something like that.

Also i don't know what the stigma is around guys getting tampons for their girlfriends or sisters or moms. never feel embarrassed to ask bc hey thats what we're here for :) back me up here guys, its in no way embarrassing for a guy to walk into a CVS and pick up a box of tampons. A. no one is going to think they are for us, B. even if they did who cares, and C. you are in need and i want to help take care of u. Pls don't ever be afraid to ask ur brother, boyfriend, or even friend for this.

  • You are a true man! She apologizing because most guys these days don’t see periods as a natural thing but as a disgusting thing. Im lucky to have a loving boyfriend who takes care of me on my period and see it as a normal bodily function. He always runs me a warm bath and gives me tummy rubs to soothe the pain and cuddles a lot. However, I have a friend whose boyfriend won’t even come near her during her time of the month. He finds his own S/O disgusting during her cycle. Which goes to my belief if a guy wants her for private for sex he’s got to love that part even if it’s bleeding. Thank you for being a man and being mature about the topic. We females really appreciate guys such as yourself. Just keep reassuring her that you see it as natural and beautiful. Its beautiful because her body is literally making a place for a future human life!

  • Because not every man is mature and caring, you are. So that is a good trait, your girlfriend is lucky you understand.

I got a few spots on my boyfriend sheets, my period started a little earlier than i expected. I honestly wasn't really embarassed, at all. i just said whoops sorry. He knows we get periods, he uses my vagina to stick his penis in, this is part of the deal. If he gets angry about period blood he's not husband material and I would say fuck him.

  • Because it would surprise you how many insensitive arseholes talk about how "disgusting" and "annoying" our periods are, from the physical symptoms, to how our change in mood annoys them.

  • Because a lot of guys get embarrassed and disgusted about that. Living with just males all my life, in uni and at home and partner. They generally don't like to talk or know about it

    • Because a lot of guys are backwards thus.

  • Bro, you are completely 100% correct. Only assholes would get mad at a girl for something all girls do and have no control over. It'd be like a girl getting mad at a guy for getting an erection

  • "Point Is why do girls always feel so apologetic and embarrassed?"
In our society, girls are taught to hide/be silent towards guys about what happens "in their panties".

  • OMG you're boyfriend goals.👍
You're so sweet and understanding of your girl. She is so lucky to have you.
Most guys are not decent like you and think periods are gross and yucky which is why when such a thing happens we are scared if the guy would have a disgusted reaction. I mean my guy literally said that i don't have the right to be a bitch just because on my period and that drove me more nuts. So you're way better

  • It's hard to say man

  • I think that it is a natural thing and should be handled with the same way we handle anything else in life and I'm only 16 lol
