Guys how would you react if your girlfriend did this in bed?

Ok this is gonna sound kinda stupid, but I have nightmares at night about getting abused when I was little. And when I have them I tend to either kick, hit or scream in my sleep. I've even gone so fsr ad to injury my foot by kicking my bed post. My boyfriend has been asking for me to sleep over at his house with him or stay the night when I see him. Normally I end up just leaving after we do anything because of the nightmare thing. I'm nervous to tell him that and reluctant to stay over in bed with him because I'm afraid it'll freak him out. How would you guys react if you knew your girlfriend did that and why? Would it be a deal breaker?

  • As long as my girlfriend let me know ahead of time, I'd be okay with it. I have sleep apnea and sometimes that causes me to be jolted awake because my body is trying to get more oxygen. Other people have restless leg syndrome that occurs during sleep. Those kind of things can be an annoyance, but definitely not a deal breaker in my opinion. Keep in mind, it is probably better to tell him sooner rather than later in case you unintentionally fall asleep next to him.

  • No it wouldn't be a deal breaker. I would still want to have her sleepover. I would hope that her sleeping next to me might ease her nightmares or at least I would deal with if it happen.

    • What would you do if she accidentally hit you?

    • Laugh it off. My wife as hit me before or swung her hand and hit my face. I jumped up like WTF and realized she did. I told her about it in the morning and laughed. Shit happens.

    • So you don't think it'd be a big deal? I'm really scared I'd end uo hitting him hard lol

  • Not a deal breaker,
I think you should tell him.
My boyfriend has nightmares and when he came to stay over he told me and I was more than supportive he probably will be too if you guys genuinely like each other.

  • I have punched my husband multiple times as he's woken me up. I wake the poor guy up at least once a week screaming. Usually two. He doesn't care. Never been a problem.

  • I did that once and kicked my poor dog in the head and she flew off the bed. I was a bad momma.
As for you, I really can't imagine it being a deal breaker for guys.

    • Yeah it's why my kitten isn't allowed to sleep on my bed anymore

  • You should tell him because then maybe he will be understanding when it does happen and also it'll give him a chance to sooth you potentially.

  • I mean how long have you two been dating? Also you're under 18? Lucky girl if your parents let you stay over.

    • I'm 18 and about 4 years

    • Oh okay Yeah that makes sense. Also why the fudge haven't you told him yet if you've been together for 4 years. That seems kind of crazy. I think he'll more so be shocked about that than the nightmare stuff.

    • I don't like talking about the stuff that happened to me, he knows some of it just not that I have nightmares

  • depends on the guy... some guys will stay others won't...

but you need to make him aware of it... don't let him find out the hard way cz that would freak him out... but if he knows the story he might be there to calm you down when you get the nightmare... you know him best... open up to him n see how he takes it.

  • lots of people do weird shit in their sleep. I once punched my ex in the face when she tried to wake me up because I thought she was a Viet Cong soldier trying to shove a huge knife in my heart. just tell him and it'll be okay.

    • You watch a lot of war movies?

    • either that or I'm the reincarnated soul of an American GI who was killed in Vietnam.

  • if you properly explain it to him on what you do and why you do it he should understand

  • I would wonder why she hasn't told me about this yet, and tell her that she's silly if she doesn't think cuddling with her is worth a black eye or two.

    • So you don't think he'd be upset if I accidentally hit him?

  • What part of that is deal breaker!..
Girl are supposed to be like that!..
They easily get inflicted with emotions that makes them a good caretaker!.. And mother too. You just need to tell him about it
And once you are in bed while he cuddles you and you feel safe I am sure nightmare won't dare show up

  • well that´s challenging xD but as long as you don´t knee my balls mid sleep, it´s ok.

    • I'm scared I'll end up hitting or kicking him. I don't think I'd manage to hit him there so that should be safe

    • i mean it can even happen with a girl that doesn´t hit or kick in her sleep xD it´s normal to take an ellbow to the face once in a while :D also men are usually pretty tough when it comes to this. "usually" girls would have a hard time hurting guys if they don´t hit very special areas ^^

    • I'm just nervous because I do end uo hitting hard sometimes lol. I almost broke my bed post once because I kicked it lol

  • She'd totally be sleeping on the other side of the house.

  • deal breaker

  • not a deal breaker its not like its ur fault, hopefully he has a big enough bed where you guys have some space from each other

  • I would be shocked but it's not something that destroy my feelings for her although I would wonder how to fix it

  • if you explained it to me before it happened I'd be cool with it

  • have him tie you up

    • Not gonna happen

    • then your ankles or something so you dont kick him

  • honesty is the best policy, if he loves you it won't be a deal breaker

  • No, it wouddn't. It would suck if I got badly injured, but otherwise i'd just want to comfort and cuddle and make her feel safe again.
