Girls, Do you feel embarrassed when being naked in public changerooms?

I go swimming at the public pool with my friend every once in a while. When i get changed i usually hold a towel in front of myself to cover up my boobs and vagina, i don't really care if they see my butt. My friend on the other hand, usually just strips naked right there and and isn't shy at all. Other girls are like this, and others get changed in the stall. I've just got no clue what the norm is and how people feel about it.

I think it is all about how your family acts when undressed, as that is where we learn the way to behave. People can be quite different from your very modest/shy/embarrassed to the more open/relaxed attitude to be being naked in front of friends and other people.

So for me I have always been relaxed about being naked. We have a family shower room at home and we are always comfortable showering/dressing/undressing in front of each other. I find it a little amusing when a girl at school gets so up tight about holding a towel in front of her. i mean we all have the same sort of girly bits really... there is not that big a secret...

i suggest that next time you just try be like your friend that is open/confident. You will find that really nobody worries about it that much and it is so much easier than worrying about holding a towel too!

If i didn't have the option of covering myself with a towel i wouldn't be that embarrassed, i just feel awkward showing everything. I'll try getting changed without a towel the next time i go swimming :)

I actually did end up going swimming with my friend this week and didn't use a towel to cover up when i was getting changed. I think my friend was a little suprised that i was so suddenly comfortable bare ass nude :)

That's cool. I'm sure it was a lot easier than juggling with the towel all the time. So how did you feel about it? Will you now always be more relaxed?

Well i was initially uncomfortable, but i honestly think that was because i was cold, since i had no clothes on. I think that in the future i can allow myself to be more confident, take showers at the pool without keeping my swimsuit on and stuff like that.

I think it is good to be more confident about how we look and how we feel. There is something nice about friends regarding you as a confident person and we feel so much better about ourselves. I am glad that you found it ok. Showering with a swimsuit on always seems strange to me. A few friends used to do the same, but then saw I never did and now none of them do that. They said it was just something that was from their parents being the same. Now they are more than comfortable being more natural, just as you are discovering.

The pool that i usually go to with my friend has shower stalls but doesn't have curtains. I'm not really able to see my friend but i don't believe she showers naked, nor do i. It seems to make sense to shower without the swimsuit now that i've thought about it.

I went to the pool with 4 of my friends today. Afterwards we used the showers, and for the first time i showered naked in public. Most of my friends either took there tops off and there bottoms on or just didn't take anything off. I felt pretty comfortable overall.

I am sure that you felt that you had showered properly too without any swimsuit in the way. I'm glad you felt comfortable about it as well. I guess from now on this will be the normal thing for you. Perhaps your friends may even take your lead and do the same. Did any of them say anything?

One of them said something like "'i refuse to take my bottoms off", but other than that not much was said. When we were getting changed most of didn't make an effort to hide anything, just when we were showering.

i can't remember the last time I was forced to get naked in a public place. Everywhere I go has private stalls, curtains, changing rooms, etc

Yes, i'm semi embarassed about being nude in front of a bunch of girls. i don't really care if people say anything besides my tiny boobs, so when i get changed i just put my hands over them.
