Why is our society so feminine nowadays?

Where's the real men?
In the couple of last years I've noticed that my generation's guys are very feminine. They are afraid of women, they almost let women be on the lead, they dress up like a stereotypical gay (skinny jeans, very "fresh" look over all and they look in the mirror more than girls). It's a huge turn off for me and that's one of the reasons why I tend to go for older guys (over 24 years old) because "their" generation used to be even little bit more masculine. Really, you dont have to go many years back and check how guys dressed up and how was their attitude. They were more like... a man. Now this is my personal point of view. Has anyone else noticed this? Does it bother any of you? Why do you think this has happened for our society in so short time?

  • I only ever see guys wearing overly slim-fitting skinny jeans or look 'stereotypically gay' (I'm going to look past that massive stereotype atm) when I go to areas of DT that are known to have a hugely LGBTQ culture. So.. I'm not all that familiar with society as a whole turning 'feminine'.

But when did 'letting women take the lead' equate to being feminien, much less being bad? Are you fucking kidding me? Are you seriously complaining and wishing that you could live in times where men were the only ones 'in the lead' because women, not allowed by law to have an income of their own, were literally completely dependent on their men and as a result spent their entire lives cleaning the house, cooking for their family, raising children, and doing whatever the fuck their husband asked because if they got on his bad side, he would have no qualms about kicking her out of the house for the night?

  • I agree. I think the world just has a hard time treating men like men and women like women yet treating them both equally. Equal does not mean the same

  • I don't know ask all the boys pretending to be girls on the internet.

  • The answer to this question has many layers of what is the correct answer. First of all is the opinion you hold in what the definition of femininity is. From what I can tell, your belief on it is the idea that caring about looks too much and not being dominant are feminine features. Now that we have the definition, why is this change in behavior taking place. This is actually supported by Thomas A. DiPrete, Claudia Buchmann in the book "The Rise of Women:", summerized that the increase independence in women and the desire for equality of women to men from multiple party's of each group is causing men to not desire to be "lead" of a relationship but instead strive to share it. It actually increases likelihood of finding a partner, that behavior change.

  • Great question. I think it has to do with the surge of social media like Facebook, tweeter etc. like never before seen.

Just back 12 years a lot of guys will still go to the park after school, hang around to see other and talk and will feed off each masculine energy in the process. Now with social media the way it is you can link up with your friends without seeing them face to face and not feed of each other masculine energy thus causing guys that usually have a single mother at home leads to them acting submissive and less masculine. It's pretty sad, really.

  • Because being a "real man" is considered sexist and "toxic".

  • Because that's what women before you wanted so they tried to raise a man that's "soft and emotional" 🙄 smh

  • Again mostly comes from the women. Women expect less body hair, better grooming, equality, less women are having children

Gone are the days a women runs after the rugged man that looks like your typical caveman. Today women look for clean feminine looks

  • because of feminism

  • Well if you're going after guys that are over 24 and you're below the age of 18, that may put you in a bad position in the future (just saying). As for nonfeminine guys, you'll find them. It just seems that feminine guys are becoming more popular these days

  • because feminism want society become only female... we will soon look like the hunger games rich society, full of superficial trangender people...

  • World's screwed up , so are the men & these skin tight dressing is a trendz u see , everyone does that cuz it's a fashion now. They like it this way.

  • I think its been kinda normalized. It must be thos pc culture crap. Where i live, i see no such thing tough. Men are men. No more , no less

  • when I watch bud spencer I see guys fighting for fun and not to kill. todays society has people who wouldn't just knock you out. they would go ham and make u not wake up for weeks.

  • judging someone by their looks is pretty useless. i agree with the dressing part. maybe some guys do dress a little feminine, i haven't seen any, it also depends what you mean by feminine dressing. if you can elaborate more on that it will be helpful. but a feminine looking guy could be more masculine than a masculine looking guy. like they say "Never judge a book by its cover"

  • well.. I don't know why it is like that but please show some respect because I believe there are still some men left.. I personally feel awkward walking in skinny jeans..

  • Move to Russia. You'll be fine.

  • I dont know

  • because theywant so

  • Nah, you're just butthurt from everyone pointing out how women are not women anymore, actually IS true. Nice try though, little butthurt one.

    • What? Hahaha. Im confused. I haven't even thought about that. But you are right, girls are less feminine as they used to be. That may be one of the causers for men being less masculine.

    • ☝☝☝ On point.

  • Feminism has killed them! Although nothing can kill my masculinity. I'll die a man. We are still her but we are rare.

  • You are reaping what the sisterhood sewed. Masculinity is vilified, ridiculed in every single advert, labelled as being toxic, boys are drugged for being boys and all of the media projects hatred towards males. Male spaces are constantly invaded by women and sometimes banned or seen as dangerous.

Tell me. what in the hell did you expect to happen?

  • Ugh I know what you mean..
