This issue came up in discussion with @MlleCake, who seems to be an extremely nice lady! How prevalent is the practice of women faking orgasms?

Girls, you know whether you have ever faked an orgasm. Maybe you did it because you thought his ego was too fragile and he wouldn't stop unless he thought you had reached the Big O. Maybe you were just tired and wanted to go to sleep. Maybe you thought there was something wrong with you and didn't want to admit it.

Have you ever faked an orgasm? Why? How did you reconcile that behavior with the almost universally expressed desire that "I want a man who will be open and honest with me!"? (It's probably less common, but. . . have you ever had a guy pretend to have an ejaculation inside you?)

Guys, maybe it has never happened to us, or maybe we have had one or two partners who were just too good at pretending to reach the mountaintop. Maybe later, when she got mad, she told you in anger that she had faked her orgasms. What is your experience on this issue?

I think that when we first started experimenting with stuff (before actual penetrative sex, I mean like fingering and oral and stuff), I did fake it like once or twice, no more than that. It was my first time doing anything like that and his too and I didn't know if something was wrong with me that it took more effort to get me off than it did to get him off and I didn't wanna make him feel like he was doing something wrong either since it was his first time doing that stuff too. Then he actually did make me cum and I was like 'holy fucking shit, dude' and had to admit that I'd faked the other two times. He made it pretty clear that faking sucked and I quickly figured out for myself that it did indeed suck, it just made him think certain things were good when they weren't and being honest about it meant that things were better for me and easier for him :P So yeah, I think overall, I faked twice ad then learnt my lesson when I had an actual orgasm :P

I used to fake orgasms frequently out of pity for my first partner who I stayed with for 7 years. He was terrific at oral sex but when it came to intercourse I was constantly bored and I didn't really feel any pleasure but a weight on top of me and he wasn't well endowed either. This was the age of 16-22 so I believed that this is what sex was supposed to feel like as I didn't know any better.

Now 24 I met my most recent partner and I couldn't even put into words how good the sex is. Couldn't fake it even if I wanted to because it's always real.
I feel that when you love somebody you want to make them feel better, I had too much heart to tell my ex I was bored and I knew that when I looked like I was really enjoying it it boosted his confidence which I wanted to do.

I don't think any woman wants to be in a situation where she fakes. But sometimes the alternative is daunting. We get treated like we are broken for not orgasming, or not orgasming in the way the man thinks we are supposed to. (Meanwhile, he ignored everything we have ever asked for in bed.)

I'm not aware of any ladies faking it in the past, but I think it's mostly because I prefer the buildup rather than the bust. I also take an absurdly long amount of time to orgasm so I'm fine with finishing later by myself (I'm kinda awkward when the focus is on me so it's hard to finish). I enjoy giving oral too which is a plus. I'm pretty good at asking what feels good and noticing reactions too.

The take away is: be honest with what you want and like, and set some boundaries beforehand.

It's possible girls have faked it with me in the past. But I've made it a standard to communicate with a girl that my biggest concern is to delight her so I'll be invited again, that communication is really important, that I'm happy to listen to her instructions, and that my biggest nightmare is that if I do something wrong, she'll fake an orgasm.

When I first started having sex, I was confused about what an orgasm from penetration felt like, and I told my partner that I was getting off when I actually wasn't. But it wasn't intentional- I wasn't "faking" anything. It was an honest mistake. Eventually we figured out that I wasn't really having orgasms and we worked on it.

Well if they faked it then I wasn't aware of it. Really when girls do that they are screwing themselves over, since if you pretend I'm great at oral when I actually suck at it (no pun intended) how am I supposed to improve and actually be good at it? If you have a complaint speak up, I sure as hell would. I imagine for the girl a fake orgasm is quite frustrating compared actually having a real one.
