Why would a close friend avoid you after sex?

I slept with one of my closest friends a few times we wanted to be friends with benefits I thought it would be a good idea after I broke up from a long term relationship. I wanted to have some one I trusted to scratch by back if I would scratch his. What ended up happening was he started avoiding me and not returning my phone calls, I said what's going on? And he said I am over analyzing which is BS any way the whole thing was incredibly hurtful and I ended up feeling very ashamed of my self for having sex with him. Now we don't really talk I say hi or by when I see him and he gives me a weird look. Why would some one do this to me he was one of my closest friends

Well that actually that just happened to me. I got incredibly wasted and had sex with a really close friend, who I'm in love with. This happened wedns and he avoided me for a day then I kinda forced him to talk to me about it. He says that the whole situation was stupid and never should have happened because he feels awkward around me now... Since that converstation things have gotten less awkward because he got to tell me how he felt about the situation.

I know this doesn't help much, but if you care about him let him now that you feel awkward about it too, but it should be more of a bond you guys share now. Of course that is unless he likes you or all he wanted was sex, then its going to be more complex.

There is no such thing as friends with benefits. And I no this sounds harsh but you might have over analyled. All girls do especially when sex is involved. So just relax a true friend will let the waters calm and come back around if not you weren't friends.

He might of either started having feelings for you or he thinks you have feelings for him. Which would make things awkward. Close friends? Really awkward. Which also cuts off communication. So the best way at this? Ignore them and act like you don't know them anymore. Which is exactly what he's doing. Yeah I know, very mature. It hurts to be treated like that, I know...but relax, do the same and ignore him. He might come to his senses to talk when it seems like things are "okay".

He wanted to have sex at the time probably cause he had a crush or liked you at some point during his life. Once he did that, it is almost like fulfilling his want that he has had. plus it is a little awkward now. fyi I know this from personal experience
