Question about blow jobs, and specifically deep-throat blow jobs.?

This is something I've been curious about. For the girls mainly: how much can you take in all the way, without "physically" deep-throating a guy? How little can you take in and manage to actually physically deep-throat a guy? For the purpose of this question, I'm defining "deep-throat" as more than just getting over your gag-reflex, and actually letting the shaft enter into your throat. By a physical deep-throat, I mean how big (in length) can a guy be before you would need to let his dick into your throat/esophagus? Are you able to push a shorter dick into your throat? and if so, how short? Also, how much length can you take without actually passing into the throat?

It's anatomy I'm curious about. At some point you reach where the mouth ends and the throat begins. The throat is a lot narrower than the mouth. You should have to physically "push through" that spot. How far back does that happen?

  • The back of my mouth is about 4 inches. That's where the first gag reflex usually cuts in, but you can learn to suppress that and after a while it's as if it never existed. At about 9 inches I reach my UES - upper esophagal sphincter. You have to push through that quite firmly and it comes as a bit of a shock the first time. The gag reflex is quite strong and much deeper and initially your brain has a tendency to hit the panic button. The esophagus from that point on as far as the lower sphincter at the entrance to the stomach is considerably smaller, about 1 to 1.5 inches in diameter, so stretching becomes an issue at this point and takes a lot of time. I am only a novice, so 11 inches is about my limit at the moment but I am working on it.

Getting past the first gag point is a matter of practice and relaxation. The same applies for the UES, but the Mendelsohn Maneuver, the Shaker exercise and the jaw-opening exercise help a lot.

  • i'm a guy and i would like to elaborate

most girls would take a 6 to 7 incher

now below than i don't know

you got to take girth to consideration
length doesn't mean as much if the girth isn't wide enough

    • Very true, girth matters. I guess I hope that girls will either elaborate, or assume a "typical" girth.

  • It means you take a guy all the way in your mouth past your gag reflex and the head goes into your throat. You only keep in I there for 2 seconds ish and continue with the blowjob as regular and deep throat it when ever you feel the need to add variation

  • I can handle almost 6 inches without choking but it's hot when a guy is too long to deepthroat as it makes him seem more dominant

    • Nice to see a women with an open mind. Thanks

    • Does girth make a difference when you're trying to deepthroat?

    • @Nobody770 yes it does but the length affects whether we choke or not

  • I can take about 7 or 8 inches before my gag reflex kicks in

    • Is that all? Sheesh

    • That seems like a lot. It's anatomy I'm curious about. At some point you reach where the mouth ends and the throat begins. The throat (esophagus) is a lot narrower than the mouth. You should have to physically "push through" that spot, as the girth will be larger in diameter than the throat is naturally. Same thing as if someone were to try to swallow a hard boiled egg whole (don't try this at home, kids! you may easily choke to death!).

    • nice!

  • It's about 3in to the back of my throat.

    • Thanks. The typical human head only has so many inches between it's mouth and the back of the neck; yet by angling the jaw so it is in more of a direct line, the distance between the front teeth and the back of the throat can change. Also, with a little practice (I am told and understand from experience :) ), a person can put something further down their throat than the physical distance to the tonsils, or whatever, and I am not familiar with the distance from teeth to where the throat begins.
