Why do women show cleavage?

today I was at the store waiting in line to pay and the cashier had her shirt button up. when it was finally my turn I looked away for second and with my peripheral vision I noticed that she open up her shirt to show cleavage and her undershirt as well. I looked around if their was some other person around me but I was the only their. this never happens to me. anyway I was wondering why do women do it. do women do unconsciously or consciously. Is it for a specific guy or every guy. Do you get mad if a specific guy looks or every guy looks. I'm trying to study body language so yea

  • In general its obviously to attract men or whoever.
    Personally in addition to that I think breasts are feminine and natural, who doesn't want to feel sexy and be proud of what they have. So at times its just for myself. However as I grow up I don't feel the same need for that attention and I think there's a difference between tasteful and... not so tasteful haha.

    However my opinion may have changed since I've been in a serious relationship. I just think there should be some respect for him, our relationship, and myself. I think there's a time and place for it and like mentioned there are different types of it.

    In your situation she was either trying to cool off or get your attention, probably the latter. Its okay to glance and notice if its out there in my opinion. Most women don't like creepy long stares or oogling.

  • Just to look good in general, it makes you feel more girly/cute. It's not necessarily for a guy but it's fine if guys look as long as they don't stare.

  • Sometimes it's to draw attention but a lot of the time girls with larger chests don't really notice it. I show it off around my boyfriend on purpose to tease him and make him think. (; But a lot of the time a normal cut shirt for me shows cleavage and I don't notice until one of my friends tells me so.
