Do you feel that it is weird that if a girl experiments with another girl it's normal but if a guy experiments with another guy he's gay?

Like a girl can freely experiment with other girls and it's usually oh she's just drunk or trying to be hot. Like for women around the age of 18 to 24 it seems completely normal and hot for them to have experimented and with guys and I heard a saying like I'm gay till college graduation. But if a guy starts making out with another guy at a bar or party or club etc drunk or not he is just being gay and is most likely going to get made fun of for it. As someone who is very active in gay rights/the lgbt community I find this completely unfair to men. Do you find this to be a double standard?

  • Yes. It's pretty stupid, and should not be a thing. Though admittedly, it has been shown that women are more fluid in their sexualities than men, so it makes sense that they would experiment more. However, there's always the question of why that is. Also, just because that's the general trend doesn't mean there aren't exceptions, and that all men and all women should be held to the same standards. In my opinion, the reason why it is this way is because lesbianism has been sexualized much more than being gay has. Yes, both have been sexualized to an extent, but lesbianism more so. For some reason, both straight men and some women enjoy lesbian p*rn, and yet only certain straight people enjoy gay p*rn. I don't know why this is, as I've seen no actual studies on it thus far, but I would think it's because of women having more fluid sexualities and such. So yes, it's a dumb double standard and is unfair, but I can see to some extent why it exists, though I think some of the reasons it exists are issues as well.

  • Yes, I do. Although I realize that logically, it's not fair, I can't help but feel that the other guy has some homosexual tendencies if he allows another guy to kiss him or be sexual with him. Perhaps it's social programming, but I would be totally turned off if I was into a guy and saw him "experimenting" with another man. Or if I was in a relationship and found out that my man used to make out with another guy at a bar, party, or club.

It's a double standard and I'm not proud that I'm apart of it, but it's just the way I think : /

  • Its only because people think girl on girl is hot , and because men are just homophobic

    • Quick question as a girl do you find two guys making out hot

    • Only if they are both already hot. but then again I'm bi

    • How does being a bisexual woman have anything to do with two men making, out?

  • You can call it a double-standard (and it is), but it's also a reflection of reality.

Men and women are different. One of those difference is that far more women are bisexual, or "fluid" in their sexual orientation, than men. There are very few legit bisexual men - many are really gay, but are closeted or in denial. Because most people realize this, they tend to be skeptical of men who claim to be, or who act, bisexually.

Also, it should be noted that lesbians are the one group that is most likely to hate on bi-sexual women - they see them as "pretend lesbians" or "indecisive". Pretty ironic...

  • Young men in general are utter homophobes, they're so insecure in their masculinity that they'll go to very far lengths to disassociate themselves from male homosexuality.

Me, I just don't give a flying fuck, I've experienced both genders and have fun either way (granted I don't get emotionally attached to men, if I ever get married it will be to a woman). If people have a problem with then well, that's their problem, not mine.

  • NO, THEY ARE BOTH GAY/BY
Doesn`t matter how drunk someone is, it`s gay.

  • It's really hypocritical and I personally don't think gender should matter. If a guy wants to experiment, then let him. Screw everyone else.
