If everyone is bisexual then is there no such thing as being straight or gay?

I here people say everyone is bisexual does that mean straight women are lying when they say their straight as well as straight men when they say their straight and are lesbians and gays lying when they say they are gay and everyone is open to everyone but just choosing to be what they want ? and we're all just lying since we're all bisexual?

I think it's more like a scale similar to the Kinsey Scale upload.wikimedia.org/.../...x-Kinsey_Scale.svg.png everybody is on this scale, but that doesn't mean that EVERYBODY starts at a 2 or 3. You can be at 0 (being exclusively heterosexual), but I'd imagine that since there's so many levels on the scale than more than what you think would be on level one perhaps (bicurous maybe.. not full blown bisexual)

I don't even think that scale is accurate to be honest it was made in 1940 when no one knew bisexuality existed

why wouldn't it work in the same way though? Why would you rating your level of attraction to either gender on a scale from 0-6 be any different in 1940 than it is today?

and fine if you don't like the Kinsey Scale you can use the scale 26ukdude suggested. -100% (fully hetero) to 100% (fully gay) where 0 would be perfectly bisexual with equal attraction to both sexes.. works in the exact same way

Most bisexuals don't have equal attractions to both sexes that's a myth. Some bisexuals like one sexually and the other romantic and sexually .

It wouldn't good today like I said before back then in 1940 they did not know about bisexuality or asexuality or people being demixual . So for all we know kinsey could of been dealing with bisexual people saying that they were exclusively homosexual or straight and incidentally homomsexual This is why I don't believe in the kinsey scale it as some accuracy but it is also very inaccurate because bisexuality isn't always 50/50 like most people believe

I know.. that's why I said there's a SCALE. Like on a scale of 1-6 I'd consider myself a 2.5 out of 6. It doesn't matter if it's 1940 or not. It doesn't say you HAVE to be 50/50 and that's the point. Obviously you don't care about whether the scale works or not all you care about is whether they knew about bisexuality back then or not (and obviously they did because if they didn't there would be NO scale. It would just be "gay" or "straight") I'm not going to argue with you because all you care about is the history about it. What I'm saying is that you aren't either gay or straight, but you don't care. All you care about is that in 1940 apparently they didn't know that (which this scale disproves anyway) so do what you want

Exactly.. which would mean the Kinsey Scale took account bisexuality whether or not that was a word in 1940 didn't matter. They still knew about it. They knew that Greek soldiers married women even though they had male lovers even if they didn't have a specific word for it doesn't mean they didn't know about it. You know what that feeling is when you're full but you want to keep eating something because it tastes so good. Just because we don't call it "shemomedjamo" or have another word for it in English doesn't mean that we don't know about it

Exactly. That's what I was saying. Some people can be 0 or 6 on the scale or in 26ukdude's scale some people can be -100% or 100% on the scale and others fall inbetween. I don't really think you can ever say "ALL people [insert action here]" because everyone is always different and has different tastes.

i dont think about women in a sexual way at all. i love men i love the fact that they are physically stronger, harier and bigger than us. Thats what i am sexually attracted to, women are delicate compared to men and i dont find a vagina appealing at all lol. I know I am stragight lol

It depends on how you define bisexual. There are girls sleeping together in colleges as we speak that don't consider themselves bi. There are also pansexuals, who claim they don't care what gender you are, and view themselves as a completely different thing. None of it makes any sense to me.

It is a matter of choice, some guys are revolted by the idea of liking another man and the same goes for women and the opposite is true too. I gave up on relationships a few years ago ( i am straight however) just not cut out for love, so i cut it out.

Im bisexual (as im sure everyone on here knows by now) I think you can imagine the human sexuality on a scale from 100% hetro to 100% homo, most will be centered around the hetro point or near there, a few will be at the opposite end, and then others will be inbetween. Sexuality is fluid and to give something on a spectrum a definate label is silly. Thoughts and feelings aren't black and white.

Most people are not sexually attracted to the same gender. There are just a small handful of very loud people who have a social agenda to convince people that everyone has gay tendencies.

For example, there is one female user here who has multiple male accounts (letmeaskthis, letmeaskyouthat, letmeaskthat) as well as female accounts. All of her posts are intended to make it sound as if all men are "repressed homosexuals" (her words).
