  • At one point, I started to lose interest in him because I felt like he wasn't nearly as selfless, generous, and willing to above and beyond to place that sparkle in his significant other's eyes. I pride myself on knowing how to treat people. Yeah, I may not be perfect and I may have my incidents where I can be a bit of a b*tch, but generally, I am very good at pleasing every sense and I sincerely adore planning big days full of fun/honoring them on special occasions. It gives me pure joy : ) So when I wasn't getting the same thing in return, it would piss me off. It made me feel like I was being taken advantage of and the stress of planning things didn't even seem worth it anymore because it's like I was willing to do something for him that he wasn't willing to do for me.

    • Do you think that time simply wounds all relationships?

    • ...no? lol how would time wound all relationships?

  • In my last long term relationship- we were together about 4 years and just kind of grew apart and wanted different things in life. I broke up with him when he joined the army.

I've been with my current boyfriend 2 years and I have not lost interest yet. I still love him very much.

    • Do you think each relationship has a lifespan, which goes from 2-4 years?

    • No, not necessarily. I know a few couples who were together 7-8 years and only recently decided to marry- and are very happy.

  • With my last ex, he def lost interest first. ... at least thats what I determined after I found out how much he cheated on me lol in some relationships, though, i grew out of it first.

    • How long did it last, in each case?

    • last guy was a little over a year. guy before that was a fling. i got bored quick. lol i had a LONG break before then. in highschool, the one i left was nearly 3 years, and another over a year.. i'd say he lost interest... realized he was guy. :) .. and note, im current engaged to someone I've been with a year and a half. seems we both still dig each other lol ;)

    • that was supposed to say he realized he was gAy, not guy lol

  • I will never lose interest in him. And I sure hope he never loses interest in me !

  • No actually, I think our interest in each other has only gotten stronger. It certainly hasn't waned.

    • Over what period of time?

    • Over 2 1/2 years. But I think the interest started growing before that since we were friends.

  • 13 years, and starting to. Haven't given up hope yet and the plus side is I am genuinely comfortable and myself with him. That's something you'll never get from a short term relationship.

  • Like 2 days after dating him

  • No...I have never lost interest =) 4 years in it =)
