I went home with a girl last weekend, and we did everything but sex itself. We were both drunk. Anyway, we went out tonight (a week later), and she agreed to come to my place. So we started making out, then she stopped it to discuss past relationships, then we made out, then stopped, and finally made out hardcore, it was like sex being fully clothed. It was insanely hot. She refused to sleep with me however. She left and texted me later saying thanks for the great night. She wants to see me again. My question is, if you made out with a guy you're really into for an hour, but you wanted to make them wait so you know they're serious, would you go home afterwards and finger yourself? Like as a guy, making out with a girl for an hour makes you wanna jerk off, do girls do the same thing?

  I can't say I've been in that bind many times myself. It isn't easy! But girls are probably driven by a few things: fear of ruining a good thing (if the guy seems to like her now but is actually just interested in sex, which totally happens and from what I understand some guys don't realize themselves!, she might rightly think sleeping with him while she has an emotional attachment will expose that and she'll be sadder when leaves (while if she waits he might figure out he's only into her for sex and that way she's less sad when he leaves because she doesn't have awesome sex memories and attachments that make her sad), or she could be driven by slut-shaming, which sucks. I would just go for it if it were the latter, but I'd totally hold off on the former.

  I often wonder why girls' behavior in these scenarios gets spun as wacky or indecisive. Not saying you came across as thinking that, I just think people do see the situation from the outside and mislabel it before realizing all the things that individual is facing. Here's a question for you... do many men hold out on sex when they like someone? why or why not?

  I do get that women don't wanna be used for sex. But if I was in a women's position, as soon as it got hot and heavy, I would flee because I would lose all control and want to sleep with him on an animal level, even though on a emotional level I wanted to wait. I'm just amazed that women remain so level headed in these scenarios, maybe it's evolution. Sex for a women means the chance of getting pregnant. To answer your question, I have never held out on sex if I liked someone. The only time I have refused sex is when I was in a long term relationship, and I was really mad at the girl. I had already knew what sex was like with her, and having sex with her would sort of reward her even though I was mad at her.

  interesting! I've never heard of a man withholding sex. It makes sense to me to withhold for the same reasons. Sex isn't as good if you're to a point where you're actually angry anyway and therefore not turned on as much and distracted. I do think in general men experience a more clear message to have sex when they're turned on. For one, the equipment is a bit more obvious, less easy to ignore and is more easily stimulated (I actually believe this contributes to quite a bit of the issue, but fill me in... please). And secondly, for women, danger is often a factor, so women need to have a ton of trust before they can fully engage and go brainless during sex, whether that's emotional or physical (avoiding unwanted pregnancies is huge here, but also they may feel less safe than I man feels due to physical strength).

  haha, I don't think just because men get boners it's harder to resist sex. I don't mean to sound like I understand women, but I know for a fact the lady i was with tonight was quite aroused, she knew it too. Your theory of trust would make sense, only me and this lady went back to her place last week drunkenly, and we had oral sex, (so she still had will power to have no real sex). I can see the whole trust thing being true, at the same time, if you a lady goes back to your apartment, that is sort of the ultimate trust. Like if i was a bad guy I could have hurt her, I could have been bad, but I'm not a bad guy, and I really like her. So in this case, she trusted me, at least to be alone with her. I'm thining she wants a relationship and wants to make sure I'm not going to use her. I truly like her, so I want to prove this to her

  glad for clarity! I guess the boner theory makes sense to me because I know that I get more turned on when I'm actually touching myself or something rubs against me than when I'm just turned on (so I'm not convinced that the answer is no! but now I have your opinion which is good). Yes, it's hard to resist but the trust thing makes sense. Also I think women do often have more emotion sex when they like a guy, than some or many men do, so women sense the emotion risk while guys are just like, lets have fun! lol but that's another question for guys (men I've talked to have agreed with that idea though).   oh, I should clarify that I don't know your friend, but in my case, I wouldn't hold out if all I wanted from the interaction was sex. I'd only hold out if I was interested in a relationship. So the whole physical trust thing really doesn't apply. I wouldn't want sex with anyone I didn't trust physically. I think she's probably holding out because of the emotional risk only, or social pressure.
