For any woman who is thinking about having the IUD Skyla placed in their uterus.
The day I went to have Skyla placed I had no clue what to expect.I figured it wasn't going to be a big deal or that painful.OMG I WAS SO WRONG! First when they start it kinda feels like your having a Pap test. Then the pain starts. Not sure what all they did but I do know when they told me they were putting it in.It hurt so much.I tried to think of any happy place.Biting my teeth and just tensed up.The gynecologist told me that I was doing good and kind of sounded impressed that I wasn't screaming or crying. Boy was I crying my brains out and screaming in my mind.Luckily the pain of the whole thing doesn't last.Afterwards I couldn't stand for to long.I started having painful cramps like mad.So once I got into the car.I cried so much from the pain.Just the vibrating of the car was to much on the drive home.
All you have is a little string hanging out into your vagina area but it never gets in the way.The only way for Skyla to be pulled out is if you take the string with your finger and pull it.The gynecologist will probably tell you to fill up in there to make sure you still feel the string.Just to make sure Skyla is still in the correct spot.
After about like 2 weeks I think or so they want you to come back.Just to check and make sure Skyla is still in the correct spot. How that feels when they check isn't painful.Just would feel like if they were checking for a baby inside you if it was in the earlier stages.I've never been pregnant so for me it was very weird seeing all of that area on a giant T.V. XD
Now I've had Skyla in me for over a year.I havn't had sex yet with it in me so I can't say how that will go but I dont see it being a problem.
So what I had learned that day was MUST.TAKE.PAIN KILLERS!I would also think about taking stuff for cramps because it will make you cramp like crazy or well for me it did. Also now when I have my monthly curse my boobs do get extremely sore depending on how heavy it might be.Also I have cramps from time to time
I do recommend any women who are tired of remembering to have to take a birth control pill and refilling it each month. Skyla only has to be replaced every 3 years.
