  • The subject is not so simple to close it with saying a sentence. It's about taking responsibility for your deeds if there's the slightest chance. no one can compare Sperms with fetuses when the difference is in an action that's done and the child is growing. The sperm is the matter, it will get out and replaced by new sperm every one two week even if the guy doesn't ejaculate. A fetus is a baby that's already created and is growing. And it is created following the act of someone who''s considered sexually an adult.
    I'm not saying I'm against abortion, but that doesn't mean I will consider it as legit if someone who can take responsibility and have the child that's growing inside her simply kill him/her without any intention of what she has done that resulted to getting pregnant, and to flee the responsibility comes after her own action. This will make a generation of irresponsible Men and Women who do not take sex and relationships seriously and will degenerate the essence of it to a simple pleasure and skipping any responsibility about real life of the easiest way possible.

    Abortion in some cases can be good or necessary. I copy past something I wrote somewhere else. As in the ones who get pregnant when raped, there can be abortion because they can be in a condition to hurt the baby after carrying him/her and they maybe have no intention to raise the baby came out of probably the worst memory they had in their lives. so maybe it is better for both the child and the society. though even when getting pregnant after getting raped some can get over it and raise the baby as their own baby and love him/her.
    And apart from the rape cases the Abortion of the deformed and mentally retarded children can be a necessity if it is observed that they are really out of the normal shape and cannot have a normal life if they are born.

    But I do not see a reason for abortion in any other cases except irresponsibility and immaturity of a human being towards her own actions.

  • I think ultimately it is up to the mother. Some common reasons are:
    It is more prevalent world-wide for teenage mums to become pregnant. Their parents didn't give a shit about them, so the young mind cannot get past the trauma, so promiscuity makes them feel better, but quite often becoming pregnant was not planned. They don't get enough support, the father of the baby leaves, the pregnant girl may live in poverty, so she knows she cannot provide for the unborn baby.
    What about if the woman was raped? Would this be classified as murder because of this unfortunate event?
    There are many women who had miscarriages, and their life is on the line of unexpected health concerns.
    There are some troubled mothers, who gets a abortion without any good reasoning, but this also plays a part on the fathers.
    Some countries (I believe I saw a thing about North America?) do not legalise the abortions, which leads onto backstreet abortions, actually ending up harming the mother or they die.
    Abortion is about to bringing a life to this world, because society has so much stigma about it and corruption in many countries.

  • It's a really stupid analogy. Sperm cells are singular cells that carry a man's DNA alone. A fetus, however, is a living thing with a heartbeat (after about 6 weeks) and it's made up of a unique set of DNA. It's like comparing abortion to donating blood; one is ending a life and the other is just you losing cells.

  • She has a point. Sperm are living cells from the body which can a potential to create human life. So technically it may be eating part of the body. I don't think it's direct cannibalism, but then she doesn't think it is either. She is using the logic to mimic the supposed flawed logic of the other argument. I don't want to argue whether abortion is murder, but I think most can agree if we put our "non emotional hats" on that a month old fetus isn't the same as a functioning human that understand they're rational and sentient. I think that's the point she is trying to make.

  • Love the slogan, but it´s not right. Semen are just cells, and semen alone can´t turn in to a human being. Abortion is preventing a life, swallowing semen that would end up on the floor is not preventing a life... So as I said, love the slogan, but it´s just not right...

  • The difference for me is that a man is willingly giving up himself and the fluids that come with it. A foetus cannot give consent or permission. However I am pro-choice I just would never get an abortion personally.
