Where did AIDS, HIV, and STD's come from?

The spread of HIV/AIDS in America was originally thought to come from a Canadian airline attendant, Gaetan Dugas, who was wrongly dubbed as Patient Zero. The story was sensationalized back in the 1980's. Studies since then have shown that there may have been a patient who contracted the disease in the US as early as 1966 and died in 1969. Studies also show that the disease probably traveled from Africa to Haiti to America. The latest theory is that it may have come from the Republic of the Congo.

Scientists believe that the disease came from monkeys or chimpanzees and most likely was transferred to humans from a scratch, a bite or from humans eating monkey meat. There is substantial evidence that monkeys are the carriers. There is the possibility that men had sex with these primates, but it seems more likely that the disease was transmitted in the one of these other ways.

All STD’s (both bacteria and virus) originates in nature, plants and animal life.

Human get infested by direct contact with a source, for instance can many STD be transferred from one human to another without sexual contact. Using an infested towel for instance can be cause for infection.

So it doesn't mean it originates form sexual contact between humans and animals, although it’s plausible.

LOL love this question! All organisms are created by mutations, so out of a miss replication of DNA an STI ans STD was born! It could have just started as a simple general bacteria or virus that got into some other organisms genitals and from there it mutated to better adapt to condition produced by the genitals so it became an infection or virus specific to the genitals, or areas that are as warm and wet. I dont think anyone knows for sure from whats species it all began, most likely humans though, but since species aside from humans can develop it then I guess it is possible to pick it up from the environtment shared with other species.

The HIV and AIDS viruses are incredibly similar to those in monkeys. It's thought that consuming infected chimps and the butchering process involved may be the most likely cause as to how the infection got into the blood stream, it then mutated to what HIV is now. This is the theory I think is most likely.

I think HIV/AIDS came from monkeys (some people ate the meat of infected monkeys and got it), I'm not sure about STD'S in general.

Contact with other animals through eating, touching or screwing those animals. The std's mainly come from screwing animals over the eons then screwing another person. Diseases that are dormant or common in animals get transferred to us by sex or by not properly cooking those animals.

I think AIDS was traced back to monkeys. Literally a man had sex with monkeys and it created aids and spread it across the world. He was very promiscuous.
