I am self conscious about my discharge if my boyfriend touches me?

I find that I often get dischardge in my underwear and it feels gross and wet unless I use liners. Do guys find it gross if they were to touch a girl and there is discharge? I want my my first boyfriend who I've been dating for about 5 months to touch me down there but I'm worried that I'll have discharge or be wet if he does. He was touching me for the first time yesterday over my underwear and I was wearing liners. Also most of the time it's stringy and long or looks like snot. It's really embarassing and hope I didn't gross anyone out but it's making me self conscious. Is this kind of discharge normal?

Last night I asked my boyfriend if my underwear is wet what he would do, then he said he would stop touching me as it is gross... Does being wet turn guys away? I wear liners but someone suggested I don't wear them next time but I'm worried now.

  • All women have some vaginal discharge. Normal discharge may appear clear, cloudy white or yellowish when dry on clothing. It may also contain white flecks and at times may be thin and stringy. Changes in normal discharge can occur for many reasons, including menstrual cycle, emotional stress, nutritional status, pregnancy, usage of medications like birth control pills or sexual arousal.

Any changes in colour or amount of discharge may be a sign of a vaginal infection.

    • Thank you for the information.

  • You could possibly have a yeast infection, which is nothing to be worried about they are quite common, but you should get it checked out just in case. I've had them before and it was like what you are describing. They will give you a pill or tell you to buy the cream and it will be gone within 48 hours. I have not had this issue since I went to the doctor :)

You're fine sweetie just go to the GYN and/or your regular doctor. It's fine.
    Hope this helped :)

    • Really? Oh I hope I don't have it. Thank you for your advice.

    • No problem. This isn't an infection like your a disgusting person it's just your hormones are unbalanced so you need to level them out again. It's a very common infection in women, men get them too so don't feel like a gross person if you have it. You're all good love!

    • Oh I see. The infection part made me worried. I'm a bit scared to go to the doctors. Would they ask you to show anything?

  • Tmi I know but all my life I would get discharge on my underwear I hated it cuz eww and it would have a smell. I though it was normal for it to smell bad you know since there is bacteria in there etc. since I've changed what I wash down there with it has changed my life no joke. I feel much cleaned doesn't smell, I have also read it's because your vagina ph is not balanced.

    • Yeah. I feel like I'm disgusting half the time... Actually I don't really use products to wash there. What do you use to wash down there? I got samples of feminine wash but do we put it over or inside too? I haven't used it yet.

    • Yeah feminine wash is the best no joke well at least for me it is. Yeah you're suppose to actually put ur hand in there and wash good but not like inside ur actual vagina hole like where a penis will go.

    • umm we put it around, between our legs but not actually inside. Is that right?

  • It's normal. When a girl gets excited she gets wet and it acts like a natural lubrication. That's why they sell lubrication because the older you get, the harder it is to produce

    • I see. What if I'm feeling normal or it's just everyday life and there's discharge, is that normal too?

    • Sometimes. If you're really concerned about it you can go see a doctor for a check up. It sounds pretty normal to me though, but then again I'm not a doctor.

    • Btw, you could also see when if happens without stimulation. At certain times during your cycle, you're more fertile.

  • Are you aroused when the discharge occurs? and is it a clear, colorless fluid? If so, then It's quite a natural occurrence in many women. Vaginal lubrication is your bodies natural reaction to a state of potential intercourse, male penises naturally lube become more moist too when erect for the same reason.

It you're unsure or the discharge is a funny color/ smell, or occurs without sexual arousal, I'd suggest you book an appointment to see your gynecologist.

    • Umm sometimes when I think about stuff, but sometimes just in a normal day too. It is clear but sometimes a little yellowish. Thanks for your advice

  • whats is discharge what happens?

    • Umm, when liquid comes out of a vagina. I'm not sure about it. It feels like a period but not as much and doesn't hurt but I can feel it coming out. I think it's to keep the insides clean? It's just that it feels wet and sometimes smells when it happenes tovme and it seems to happen to me a lot. I'm not sure if that's normal. Would you be grossed out?

    • I have to tell the truth Yes I would and your saying it smells. I think maybe you can go to some kind of a sex doc and fix it

    • If Its just getting wet thats fine but I have heard diischarge comes out kind of thick and yellow. I had to still ask you though because I do not know to much about discharge

  • hahaha I would be like snack time! Leave it and when you are with him don't use panty liners. It is very flattering to a man and if he is smart will clean you up proper.

    • lol you did not describe a white thick smelly discharge that made you itchl. You DON'T have a yeast infection.

    • Don't use panty liners? Umm maybe I'll try that. I haven't just used panties by itself in a while... Ah yes, it doesn't itch but sometimes it is white or yellow, and sometimes thick and smells if I don't change the panty liner. Only if I try to smell it when I'm within 30 cm of my underpants.

    • The yellow actually seems a little odd tbh unless it is yellow after it dries. Eat more yogurt and you should be fine. And when you say it smells is it good or bad?
