Is a 40-year-old virgin a total turn-off?

Last week I was with some friends and we ended up watching "The 40-year-old virgin", starring Jim Carell, and we started talking about it and wondering what it'd be like if the situation was the other way around: if it was a 40-year-old woman instead of a man. The men said it'd be a total turn-off and so we, women, asked them what if the woman was a homeowner, had her own business, attractive, etc. -you know what I mean, right? Surprisingly, they all said it'd still be a turn-off and added that something had to be seriously wrong with her if she was 40 and still a virgin. I was surprised by their answer because the girls were all willing to give a virgin guy a chance -true, not ideal situation, but not a deal-breaker! And the guys kept saying that for them, it was. So, here's my question after this long intro: what do you think? Is a 40-year-old woman a total turn-off for you? I'm particularly interested in what you, men, have to say. Are my male friends total jerks... or just honest? :-P Please answer! Thanks!!!

Well I might not be the best to answer because I'm 23, about half of that age. One of the main reasons I would be into having sex with a 40 year old would be because she probably has experience and can teach me a few things. If she was a virgin... I'm not sure. I would have to think about this. Maybe not, because it wouldn't be a big deal for me, and I would want it to be a big deal for her, especially since she waited that long, whether intentionally or not.

Well i would not call it a turn off but i. be wondering why the girl has not have sex yet unless she was waiting for marriage or some religious reason. i am 26 and still a virgin and i probably have sex with a older women to teach me a couple things to please a women so might be a deal breaker but not a turn off so it i had an opportunity to have a 40 yr olf virgin i would have sex with her i just hope i don't become a 40 yr old virtual.

No it is not a turn-off at all. I think it shows character - virginity is precious. You are saving yourself for the right man who will love and commit to you. Kudos kudos kudos!

I couldn't care less if a woman was a Virgin or had been sexually active in the past. Is a 40 year old Virgin slightly odd? Yes, but then normal is totally overrated. As long as a woman has a good personality, is attractive and we get on really well, I couldn't care less about whether she was a virgin or not.

Your friends are just jerks. There could be any number of reasons. Back in the day, an older woman that had never married was called a spinster, and that generally involved no sex as well.

never heard virginity could be turn off for a man. My few friends lost it in their late 30's.

The reason guys would say that about a 40 year old female virgin is that getting sex requires no skill for a straight woman. so why wouldn't she have done it by then? it makes us wonder about her personality
