Sounds like you coudl be either not wet enough, or the way you're holding your legs make you a little too tight for that angle.

Next time you guys do doggy style, try spending more time on foreplay, with extra attention to you. Best if he gets you to orgasm at least once before sex, which usually releases some tension in your muscles. You can try that, or try moving your knees further apart, which also reduces the tightness a bit.

Best thing I can tell you is to try another position. If it hurts, don't do it.

If you insist on it then try to take things slow. Start with slow thrusting and rocking and gently ramp it up. If you still feel pain then stop. The last thing you want to do is hurt yourself during an experience that should be pleasurable.
