Girls how old were you for your first GYN exam?

No matter who you are, the first time is very scary. I cried all the way there. I was about 14 I think. It was a man doctor and I was soo mad at my mom for that. That said, it wasn't as bad as I thought since it was all external. But for the first time a guy got to see all my goodies up close. I kept my eyes closed the whole time. Afterwards my mom took me to a very nice lunch, and shopping. Your turn!

  • I'm a medical resident. And most of the girls who come here are afraid. But we leave them to our female colleagues, just so they can be comfortable. A few kids even come and leave, scared of their first time. You are lucky. Lunch and shopping seems like a nice compensation. I heard moms scold their daughters for being immature over a pelvic exam.

  • I hate when girls view it as their "goodies" or "giving themselves" is such a stuck up view on things. Me and my girlfriend love reach others bodies equally and birth "give ourselves" to each other. Trust me when I say that your vagina isn't some amazing prize to a gynecologicalist.

    • Curiosity? And I guess I misinterpreted things. Like when I got a physical exam for the army, some old lady had be spread mu ass cheeks and cough while she touched my sack. It was awkward/uncomfortable as hell but I definitely want afraid nor did I think she was getting off on it.

  • I have had not had it done yet, but i am terrified. I have got to soon and i am not looking forward to it!! i feel sorry for you. ah that's so scary and embarrassing. :( haha!

    • Once it's over it's not too scary. It's more fun talking about it though, than having it done. Since I'm sexually active (only one guy), I'm thinking about a pelvic. Our school has a med school but I don't want all those young interns poking around my vag. At least I don't think I would like it. XDD Thank god for moms though.

  • I was 19 and i only got it done because I was pregnant. 3 nurses had to hold my legs open and two had to hold down my arms.
    And he ripped me. Fun stuff

  • The first time I went to a gyn, I was maybe 15 or 16.
    But had my first pelvic exam at 18. It wasn't bad for me.

  • I got my first ecography at 14. Haven't had a pelvic (internal) exam yet.

    • Wow! I don't even no what an ecography is. I'll have to look it up. Tell me please.

    • I'm not sure if you're ironic. Haha but I'll still tell you. anyways the doctor just "scans" after applying some gel. your lower part of the abdomen, to see the ovaries if for example to detect if you have a cyst like I did. You can also see the bladder, appendix to I think. I haven't done an internal exam since I am a virgin and they aren't supposed to do one unless the girl has had sex, but there are cases where it's required. Anyways you can do an ecography to other organs too but we're talking about ovaries haha

  • I was 16. I had to go because of really bad cramps. I don't think I had a pelvic exam though.

    • You might have. It's when the doctor looks inside your vag area, and maybe some other things too. I haven't had my pelvic yet but I'm active so maybe I should.

    • Yeah I don't think I will be too afraid now. I'm not 100% sure though. How old were you for your pelvic? It's pretty internal I'm hearing?

    • Same. It's not a big deal, really. They just do a pap smear and then stick a couple fingers inside you and press on your abdomen. Go to a female gyn if it makes you feel more comfortable, but I've found that both male and female gyns are very professional. They touch you as little as possible and I haven't felt even a little bit uncomfortable during either of my exams.

  • You be surprise how many girls don't get gynecologist exams due to
    being scared , some are afraid the doctor will see they masturbate etc.
    I know when i went to the Urologist for my first Prostate examine the
    doctor push his fingers so far up my ass, i felt my ass coming through
    to my bladder oh it was hell and he told me after, i would need to piss
    sure enough i had to and my urine was cloudy cause it had male hormone
    he had to major my testosterone levels trust me it was not fun at all.

  • I believe I was 17 when I first got mine. It wasn't so difficult. In and out ya know.

    • Take your mom, or aunt, or a friend. I was really really scared too. It's not all that bad and you will feel better after it's over.
