Does masturbation lead to calcium deficiency?

My boyfriend came across this:

https://www.aqnovel.com/thread-65219-1-1.html

... and thinks that he has calcium deficiency, because he used to masturbate about three times a day. He sent me that link ( https://www.aqnovel.com/thread-65219-1-1.html ), when I emailed him saying that I just masturbated.

So far from what I read and understood, masturbation is healthy and there is no harm in it. My boyfriend doesn't believe me.

Could you please tell me whether masturbation leads to calcium loss?

Thank you! :)

Linked him to some reliable webpages from: McKinley Health Center/University of Illinois, BBC UK, University of Michigan Health System, NHS UK, Go Ask Alice/Columbia Health, Better Health/State Government of Victoria, etc. But he doesn't believe me

Even ended up sending him links to newspaper articles.

Thank you very much, everyone, for helping me out here. I really appreciate it. :) I learnt new things too. :) My boyfriend (later) told that he didn't read any of the links that I had sent, but he sounded more satisfied with the information that I gathered here. When I said that it was okay, a few days ago during a call, he said he'd rather go and ask a medical professional...

  • If anyone should know, i have masturbated for many years , i took this bone density test to check me for bone loss, i get regular blood work not one time my doctor found there to bone loss or calcium deficiency
But i do agree stress will cause increase in our hormones it happens to me all the time than of course i got take of myself, i really don't believe masturbation in causing bad things to happen to our bodies but i think
if you choose to masturbate than do so really it's none of your boyfriends business not to sound offensive but some guys can make a big deal out of it , if i had girlfriend i would want her to explore her self without worrying about me getting mad at her.

    • I am not sure whether he's talking about himself or about me or about the both of us. I remember him saying (based on a test report) that he has deficiency of Vitamin D. A few days ago, he said that he has calcium deficiency and blamed it on masturbation. About me, I did get a bone density test done back in late 2013, and my calcium levels were dangerously low. I have been taking supplements (plus food with high amounts of calcium) ever since... Recently I got a complete blood test done, and it says that I have got no deficiencies at all. I have like shared webpages/pdf files/articles from reliable institutions and newspapers, including BBC UK, NHS UK, University of Michigan Health System, National Institute, The Times of India, etc... But I hope he believes me when I share the information that I gathered here. Thank you, for the information/help. I really appreciate it. :)

    • You're welcome glad to help you:) I hope you both feel better ~!!!

    • I hope so too. Thank you. :)

  • It's a chinese website, so take it with a grain of salt. Also a forum post by an anonymous poster, not a legitimate medical study.

    I'm calling bullshit.

    • Thank you, for the information/answer. I told him that, and even linked him to some reliable webpages from: McKinley Health Center/University of Illinois, BBC UK, University of Michigan Health System, NHS UK, Go Ask Alice/Columbia Health, Better Health/State Government of Victoria, etc. But he doesn't believe me.

    • I'd question his overall intelligence level, honestly.

    • I don't understand how a random not-so-reliable post gets importance. From what I read, sex education-related stuff, etc- everything says that it's not harmful.

  • Zinc deficiency yes, never heard of semen containing calcium though but I don't know. Zinc is good for your skin so a deficiency can cause bad skin, but you can get tablets for zinc so I wouldn't worry too much, I'd be more worried about the mental affects of continuously masturbating.

    • Thank you, for your answer. :)

    • I don't think my boyfriend has a zinc deficiency... But I will inform him about zinc supplements, just in case. Like what I know it's most probably vitamin D (test report), but then recently he said that he has a calcium deficiency and blamed it on masturbation. Thank you, by the way.

    • No problem, I know very little about it so I can't say any more sorry.

  • No, masturbation does not cause anything harmful like that. As others have mentioned, it's not a scholarly journal or legitimate medical website. If he thinks he has calcium deficiency, he should go see an actual doctor or start taking supplements.

    • I told him about taking supplements (even suggested the one that I take regularly), and told him about the food items that contain calcium. Like what you suggested, I think I should ask him to visit a doctor. Maybe the doctor's answer will satisfy him... And I hope he believes it, when I share/tell him about the answers that I received here on GAG. He didn't say anything about the links that I shared (webpages/pdf files from BBC UK, NHS UK, National Institute of Mental Health and Neurosciences, University of Michigan Health System, etc etc) and wanted to hear about it directly from people, I guess... Thank you, for your help. I appreciate it. :)

    • Yeah, that would be the best option then if he doesn't believe you. Maybe hearing it from a medical professional will help him more. And no problem! I hope it all works out:)

    • Right? I hope so too... Thanks. :)

Basically, aging, lack of calcium intake, medical conditions, malnutrition and malabsorption causes calcium deficiency, not masturbation.

    • Thank you, for the information. I will pass on this information to my boyfriend. :)

  • Nope, that does not happen. You sent him links to more credible sources and he still doesn't believe you? Wow.

    • Yep, and even articles from newspapers, then some educational pdf files from National Institute of Mental Health and Neurosciences (NIMHANS), etc. Asking the same at GAG to confirm things was more like... my last resort? I thought he'll find it more believable, if people tell me directly... So hope he believes me now. Thank you, for your answer. I appreciate it. :)

  • Don't know, but it can reduce penis sensitivity and sperm volume as you age. Just have him take calcium supplements or drink some milk.

    • Thank you, for your opinion. :)

  • Well speaking as a guy, man milk doesn't actually contain calcium so I think guys are safe. Not sure about womens though.

    • Thank you, for your answer. I appreciate it. :)

  • no i don't think so

    • Okay. That's good. Thank you, for your answer. I appreciate it. :)

  • Perfectly healthy.
    Flick away.

    • Thank you, for your answer. :) The thing is... I linked him to some reliable webpages from: McKinley Health Center/University of Illinois, BBC UK, University of Michigan Health System, NHS UK, Go Ask Alice/Columbia Health, Better Health/State Government of Victoria, etc. But he doesn't believe me.

    • ... He doesn't sound very bright.

    • Sent some pdf files from National Institute of Mental Health and Neurosciences (NIMHANS), and links to newspaper articles. I will be passing on the information that I gathered from here. I hope he believes me then. If not, I think maybe I should ask him to get a bone density test done and I am sure he will believe a medical professional... :) Thank you. :)

  • No but it could lead to a kitten deficiency if what I heard is correct.

    • Lol. Okay...

  • Calcium? Not so sure about that.

But I know that Zinc is a nutrient that does get expended through a guy's semen.

That's why mens' vitamins have a higher amount of Zinc than womens' vitamins.

Ironically calcium is more a concern for women (as well as iron) because of menstruation, so ironically it's womens' vitamins that contain more calcium and iron. :-P

    • Ah, thank you, for the answer. I passed on the information to my boyfriend. I didn't know about the zinc part. So that's new. :) I appreciate your informative answer. :)

    • You're welcome! 8-)

    • :) :)

  • 3 TIMES A DAY?

    • Yep, 3 times.

    • Most of the days, yes. But varies... Sometimes 2... and (very) rarely 4 times...

    • He's got a problem.

  • Yes it does and also an eventual loss of leg

    • Lol. Okay...

  • no, malnutriotion leads t calcium deficiency, easy as that.

    • Thank you, for your answer. I agree. :)

    • you could debate a rising demand for calcium if you masturbate a lot but not a deficiency because of maturbation. you have to compensate for what you do... its like eating too much or too less in general.

    • Ah, I see... Okay. :)

  • yes its lead to problem.. or defficiency of calcium ,,, after master bation our musscle contract for a while

    • Good thing calcium is in bones not muscles then.

    • dude its just to make you understood.. thats what happen after we do so.. yes it makes the bone weak.. and musscle doesn't contain calcium..

    • Thanks.

  • Sounds like pseudoscience

    • Okay. Thank you, for your answer. :)

  • Nah masturbation leads to orgasms.

    • Thanks. :)

  • Thrice a day might be much for a guy. I used to feel drained if I did it more than once every 2.5 days or so...

    • Thank you, for your opinion. :)

  • is it cum or calcium that comes out?

    • Thank you, for your answer. :)

  • Your boyfriend is an idiot. You are a well informed masturbator. Well done.

    • Thank you, for your answer. :) I hope he believes the information now. :)
