Why would you bite your partner instead of kissing them while 'intimate'?

Well basically what the title says... Is there a reason you would go from kissing your partner to biting? Some say it's primal or animalistic... Is this important to you ? Why"? Do you bite people you care about? Are you more likely to bite someone you care for , or just someone from whom you just want action? I have limited experience , and I do not want to over signify the act of biting and it's implications, simply because I am not familiar with it ,or the mood that may go with it. Thanks.

For me it's kind of a way to express to my partner the wave of passion that just washed over me as I was kissing her. I don't switch from kissing to gnawing her bones or anything, but every so often there's like a spike of raw desire that just couldn't be conveyed with a kiss, however deep.

And if a girl happened to bite me a bit while riding a wave of arousal, like she'd lost awareness of what she was doing? Totally hot. :) Still waiting for that particular scenario to happen, but a guy can still hope...

it's usually just something you do in the moment of things or as you're trying to make things "kinkier" I guess. it doesn't necessarily mean he cares for you any more or less than if he hadn't done it.

I think maybe people make things kinkier to avoid being intimate... Yah know like "Wow that's really kinky" As apposed to "Wow that's really sweet" Don't you think it is easer to think of something as kinky rather then romantic?{If you're someone who wants to stay distant - which is lots of young people today} IDK, just seems likely.

I suppose..although you could look at it from another standpoint that maybe he's comfortable enough with you to switch it up and do something other than kiss :o

Thanks for the other perspective.... That'd be pretty cool.... I've seen other people say, someone may just feel comfortable, and biting is a sign of comfort.... I was just struck that he was kissing me very passionately until he started biting, then no kissing... I mean if kissing already bores him then I'm not gonna be able to keep up. I bite my guy all the time lol... I care about him a lot. I think I'm actually falling in love with him. (not quite there but it's definitely a possibility) I just think it helps create an intense passion between us, shows him that I can't get enough of him and just want to devour him. I think you're reading a little too far into the biting. It's just something you do in the moment. Weather it be with your boyfriend/girlfriend or with somebody you're just hooking up with.

I bite my boyfriend lightly but firmly on the neck o when we are deep in kissing, I sometimes bite his lips. I'm 18 and he's 23 but to my surprise never had a girl do that. When we had sex(missionary), I bit his shoulder softly and when we were done, he told me that was his new favorite turn on.
