Differences between females and males watching porn?

So, this is basically just a question about the age old problem many females have with their men watching porn, which I read a lot about on here... So, is there a difference between females watching porn (I kinda consider it a cliche that most women need romantic porn to get turned on) and men watching porn? I was wondering if the basic difference between women and men is, that women get turned on rather by the act of people having sex in it, while men get turned on by the women and their vaginas in it? I think, this would explain why a lot of women are not comfortable with their partners watching porn, because they feel as if they are not attractive enough and see that as a reason for their men resorting to porn...? At least that sounds like an explanation, since "sexy" is portrayed as something like a barbie doll like looking girl in porn (and the media in general) and someone's husband masturbating to that image instead of his wifes' means he prefers that over hers? I'm also wondering if most of these women were actually insecure before, or if their wish to look "perfect" to satisfy their men but not being able to live up to "porn standards", made them insecure? And another thing, how do men feel if their girlfriends/wives look at naked, hot dudes that are more attractive? Does it bother you guys or do you not get insecure? OK, a lot of questions, I know... :)

1) I also disagree that the cliche about women needing porn to be romantic is untrue. At the very least, it's not true for me - I like graphic images, up close shots, seeing a man finish, etc. For me, romantic porn is actually somewhat of a turnoff as it almost seems like a disappointing cinemax movie rather than porn.

2) I don't think women are more turned on by the act vs. men turned on by the women. Rather, women aren't given good eye candy. The porn industry (and the overall media industry) is still just getting a handle on what type of male form turns women on. Too often in porn, the man is either just plain ugly, or the opposite - overly muscled. Many women actually prefer a toned, but lean physique (think soccer player body, David Beckham), but we rarely get this to look at.

3) Just as men are turned on by the women in porn, there are many aspects of the men in porn that I focus on in a similar way. I prefer porn with well-endowed males. It doesn't mean I need/want a large penis in real life, they just are aesthetically pleasing to look at when looking at porn and indulging in fantasy. I also prefer porn where the man acts passionate, makes noise, seems into it, rather than some robo-screwer. Lastly, I love a good come shot as that's the ultimate reflection of the man's pleasure.

4) I don't compare myself to the typical porn star. In fact, from what I know, the men I've been with actually prefer amateur style porn over standard fake boobed/dyed blonde hair porn. Further, everybody always notes the appearance of the women's anatomy, how it's waxed, trimmed, etc. However, the men are waxed too! It gives a cleaner image, and makes their penis look larger. Taking the same viewpoint from a woman's perspective, watching porn with waxed men does not mean I want to be with a guy who waxes in real life.

there is nothing wrong with women watching porn. I do it all the time, I'm not ashamed to say it. I've even talked with several guy friends about it. one night I asked them if they thought it was bad, but the fact is men don't care.

as for the reasons, they are the same as guys, to get off. I don't think its like you said, men watching for the women and women watching for the act itself. I'm pretty sure that women watch for some of the men in porn and ment watch for the actual act as well.

I watch porn for the sexually attractive women, but this rules out most internet porn out for me, as vintage porn seems to have much prettier female porn stars. Given that male porn stars aren't hired for looks but for having a large penis (because it's so rare), most of them are fat and ugly so I don't see the appeal for women and as a man it's hard to feel "threatened" by men like that.

It's hard to really outline any differences: I've loved watching porn and I've had friends and partners who were into porn that was more vanilla or more hardcore than what I might typically watch. Like female friends who regularly watched gangbangs and orgies, and guys who watched porn with actual plots and MF scenes.

I like a lot of different types and I may stick with a few genres for a while or go see something totally new for a change. When I've watched porn with friends, we usually pick something that's going to get us both / all horny, and often me and whoever I'm with is also playing with herself or himself in addition to watching me play with myself as we check out a few porn sites and scenes.
Some women love watching lots of MMF, bisexual or even gay porn- I had an ex who totally loved watching gay porn. She thought it was so hot seeing two men suck each other off. Other female friends of mine were more into watching scenes where one or two women are taking several men at once. They enjoyed fantasizing about having multiple guys who were inside of them at once. And then other friends preferred watching and getting off to more vanilla porn with solid plots and little to no cumshots.

I’ve never skipped sex for porn, but I do enjoy porn... watched porn with a bunch of girls. Yeah, girls like situational romantic love making in my experience... mostly. Guys... well me anyways.
