While it can happen there's a very slim chance. The reason you have your period is because your egg and the padding of the uterus are finished with because they weren't used. There's virtually no chance that you're pregnant.
The time where you're most likely to get pregnant is about... One and a half or two weeks after you finish your period. Yes it can happen other times but that's when you're body is most susceptible.
If you go to google you can look up the different phases of a your cycle and see for yourself what's going on at a given time. During your period, and just before it your egg isn't able to be impregnated because the hormone levels and such, I'm not exactly sure on the specifics but there are sites you can find, for example-

Yeah it is, even though a missed period is supposed to be a big sign, I think it takes a little bit for that to be affected so a period that is really close may not be a good indicator, I don't know that for sure tho. I do know that even if ur pregnant you can still have light bleeding and all that can be mistaken for a period. General rule of thumb: if you have unprotected sex, unless your tubes are tied or whatnot, you can get pregnant
