Why does my dad have these videos?

My mom and dad are divorced and I live with my dad. The other day I was looking for some receipts to take back some clothes my dad got me for Christmas and I found a bunch of father/daughter porn dvd's in his closet. I was taken way off guard and put them back how I found them. My dad has never done or said anything wrong to me and I find it weird that he has those dvd's. My friend said he probably is sexually attracted to me because I am getting older and that he wants to have sex with me. Do you think that's what he really wants to do? Also he asked me later that night if I was in his closet and I said I wasn't so do you think he knows I saw them?

ok I talked with my dad. I asked him about the videos and he asked me what I thought about them. I told him that I had been thinking that he wanted to have sex with me and he said its up to me.

  • I think that if he really wanted to then he might have done it by now. Usually guys that are really like that wouldn't wait.

    As for him asking you I think that he might just been worried and really ashamed if you had seen them. But I guess it's kinda random to ask you about being in his closet. So maybe he might suspect it but then doesn't really have any solid proof that you were. And I'm sure he might not be to thrilled about investigating it any further than asking.

    But from what I can read it seems your his little girl and he just doesn't want to mix you and those things together. He's just into that stuff and maybe he doesn't want that for you.

  • Yeah, your friend sounds way off-base. Porn is fantasy, not to be confused with real life. I've read father/daughter erotica, and not once have I even been sexually attracted to my father. Your dad isn't sexually attracted to you and never will be. He just is turned on by a certain genre of porn; he's not going to try to have sex with you; he's certainly not sniffing your underwear. Yes, he most likely knows you were in his closet and saw the movies, and he's probably very embarrassed by the thought of it. If you feel comfortable talking to him about what you saw, do it. If you prefer to never say anything and just ignore it, then do that. Either way, do whatever feels best to you. Just know that your dad isn't secretly into you.

    • An update of my own: if your dad said that it's "up to you" whether or not you have sex with him, that's crossing the line. Talk to an adult you trust- a friend's parent, a school counselor, etc. That's pretty creepy of him.

    Men learn very, very early, to separate their fantasy sex life from their real-world sex life. Just because we see it on porn doesn't mean that we'll do it in life. It doesn't even mean that we *want* to.

I don't mind that he watches porn I know he is a single guy and he does but its the type of porn he has and its only that there isn't any other kind just father/daughter.   • I don't have a daughter but I do have a sister.
