I feel sick after kissing my boyfriend. Can you tell me why?

I don't know if it's the cold weather, but I alway feel a little ill after kissing my boyfriend. I even got a sore throat one time. His breath seem like a burrito, not to be mean, I don't know. Maybe he doesn't brush his teeth and the bacteria is getting to me. Any advice?
