What is the best yeast infection medicine to get from a drugstore?

I've recently started having uncontrollable itching "down there" Which has only happened once a few months ago and I went to the doctor about it and she checked me out and gave me a prescription for a yeast infection medicine which I had to inject inside for three days and surprisingly it went away fast. Now That I know what it is I don't want to have to make a appt to go see the doctor and rather just go get a yeast infection inside a store. So which kind is the best to get?

I like Monistat One Day. I find it to be gentler on my body than the multiple day versions because it's not sitting on my skin for as long, and I find it more effective as well. But before you treat yourself for a yeast infection, get a diagnosis from your doctor or use a Monistat pH test to make sure it's not a different problem. If you have trouble getting rid of it using over the counter products, ask your doctor about a Fluconozole or Diflucan prescription.

To supplement, eat lots of probiotic products, which are packed with the beneficial bacteria that keeps yeast levels in your vagina in check. Also avoid excess sugar, which yeasts feed on. Drink plenty of water and eat a generally healthy diet. Wear breathable cotton underwear and change it often enough to keep it totally dry down there, since yeast thrives in moist areas.

Try Monistat, sweetie. I have Heard through the grapevines and advertised on TV the This is the Best from the Rest.
However, if it is where you Need to return to the doc, then don't prolong the inevitable that you have to go back for another Prescription.
I feel that many girls tend to get this by wearing underwear that doesn't allow their "Privates" to breathe. It's like moldy bread when it gets very moist.
When you are home, try leaving the undies off, even under your jeans or pjs and allow this to air out. You may find you get less yeast infections and maybe No more ins tore.
I have never had One and when I got out of High School and Not under mom's thumb, I chucked the Undies Unless I HAD to wear them.

Thanks! And yeah that could be a reason but I think it's mostly from sex, you know how guys don't know you aren't supposed to go back to front lol

You need to get an anti biotic to get rid of the infection but be careful because like me some people are allergic to penicillin

Also your ph balance is already off and an anti biotic isn't really going to help that so you're going to want a hormone suppliment to get your ph balance right

DO NOT USE AN ANTIBIOTIC. A yeast infection is actually a fungal infection and requires an antifungal, not an antibiotic. In fact, using antibiotics can CAUSE yeast infections by killing off the beneficial bacteria that normally keep yeast levels in check.

Realistically you need both because an anti fungal won't help an infection that's already there

Actually, it will. A yeast infection is a fungal infection, not a bacterial infection, and therefore must be treated with an antifungal, not an antibiotic. Antifungals treat fungal infections, and antibiotics treat bacterial infections. Not only will an antibiotic do absolutely nothing to treat a fungal infection, it will also contribute to the fungal infection by killing the beneficial bacteria in your vagina which normally help to keep excess yeast levels at bay. So, again, DO NOT use an antibiotic.

That said, I'm not suggesting that you use just any antifingal treatment for a yeast infection. Many antifungals may not be safe to use on the vagina or effective enough against yeast infections specifically. You need an antifungal that is designed specifically to treat vaginal yeast infections, such as Monistat or Fluconozole.
