Girls, do you wear tampons or pads?

Which one do you think is better? Do you have a particular opinion about certain girls who wear tampons or pads? I wear pads and I guy told me "I didn't know you wore diapers, you struck me as a tampon kinda gal" Guys, what does that even mean? Is there a "type" of girl who wears tampons? What do you think of girls who wear pads?

  • I'm confused as to why the guy felt like he needed to contribute... " I didn't know you wear diapers. You struck me as a rampon kinda girl" lol ummm ok? Boy Have a seat. First and foremost, he's an ass and when he has a uterus and knows the pain of having a period then he can input as long as he has nothing but a pair of testicles and a dick , he can shut his pie hole 😊. Then I was reading the comments and some guys said " I prefer tampons" like no no no, your preference doesn't matter shove it. Whatever a girl decides to use is HER business and YOUR preference doesn't mean shit.

  • I used to be kinda scared of tampons in my early teens but I got over it. You can't feel them at all, whereas pads are hella uncomfortable and do feel like you're wearing a nappy, also like other girls have said I worry about being able to smell the blood, the wings showing (or the pad moving if there aren't wings), getting it on my leg etc. Tampons are way less stress, and you can swim.

  • try a moon cup or a diva cup with a liner under. That's what I've been doing since I heard about them. There are other cheaper brands/versions of this on amazon from China. It takes a little bit at first to figure it out, but once you figure it out, it's much cheaper than buying large pads or tampons and much safer and comfortable to wear over night.

  • That was a mean thing for that guy to say. However a girl chooses to manage her flow is fine with me and isn't any of my business anyway.

  • I much prefer pads. LOL.

    • lol ,,,,,,,

  • I use a menstrual cup but before that I only used tampons.
Now, I'm all for the cup, even tampon bother me but pads? It's the worst. I've always hated it. I must have used them the firsts times I had my periods and I went straight to using tampons. I absolutely hate to feel the blood going out of my body and I hate the smell. It was awful.

    • So with tampons there is no leakage or smell? I know I'm a grown woman and still asking these questions, I have just never used tampons.

    • There is no leakage when you handle it well. If you put it on for too long, it can happens. I would wear a small panty line. It still smell a little but it's nothing compared to pads.

    • I'll make the switch then :D see how it goes

  • I wear pads and for any girl that wears tampons to each their own... I tired and never again lol 😌

  • Most definitely tampons for me.. I just find them so much more convenient and certainly more hygienic.. I do however use pads at night.

    • It's more hygienic? How so? I've never tried them

    • I'd sooner not be sitting in my own blood! .. Thank You.

  • Tampons coz i dont like walking around with a squishy bloody pad in my undies

  • That guy sounds like he is about 10.

I wear pads, because tampons have the potential for Toxic Shock Syndrome, and even if it's a 0.01% chance it's not worth it to me, considering pads have a 0% chance of anything of that nature.

  • I wear pads. I don't think tampons are as popular here as they are in America, but maybe I'm wrong about that. Just most people I know wear pads. They're irritating, but I prefer them to tampons.

  • Tampons. Much simpler, cleaner and more comfortable than pads The idea of a menstrual cup disgusts me.

    • hahaha

    • I just don't see how having something shoved inside of you comfortable I mean pads aren't a walk in a park either bug you get what I mean lol

  • I wear pads if I wear jeans or sweats at home or in public.
I wear tampons if I wear tighter jeans or a skirt/dress. I always wear tampons wearing those if I go out in public.

  • I'm actually looking into trying a menstrual cup. Much better for the environment.

    • say what

    • I just looked this up & OMG i had no idea. I think I have a much too big flow for one of those

    • Probably not, and if you did, you would just empty it more often.

  • I use tampons. I swear I could smell the blood when I had a pad on. It was gross. Tampons are so much more simple.

    • Dang I mentioned to put that as anonymous

    • No need to feel embarrassed

  • Never used tampons, they don't seem comfortable. And I don't like the idea having something shoved in me down there 24h/24h.

  • I use tampons, because it's easy, cleaner & I just feel more comfortable with them. "How can it be comfortable having something inside you?" - tampons are made in a way that if you put in it right you shouldn't be feeling it at all.

However - I don't really think it's any guy's business how his girl deals with her period.

  • When I had my period I used tampons, but now I'm 8 weeks pregnant so I don't need them for now. I have never been judgmental of girls who use pads.

  • In two first years I used only pads and now I use tampons the first days and during the night a pad also. After the fourth day I use a pad because the flow is very light and tampons are not easy then.

  • both i have a lot of blood and a tampon doesn't last long so i have a pad on just incase, it is such a pain i can't have either on for more than 3 hours so when i am in class and ant leave i am paranoid

  • I just do pads lol

  • I use both, it depends

  • I don't care if a girl wears tampons or pads. Whatever she's more comfortable with is fine with me

  • I wear pads usually because my period lasts only for 48 hours! And a 13 year old girl died this week from a tampon so I don't think I'll be using those anymore

  • I wear pads because that is what I was taught to use. Also I'm scared of using tampons because of all the talk about Toxic Shock Syndrome. I don't want to get that.

    • This is correct. A friend of mine her mom is a pretty high regarded gynaecologist. Was quite insightful of learning about it. Generally speaking the biggest problem about tampons are all the extras about it, aka chemicals, parfums, etc. Ever heard about the trend how girls put tampons into alcohol and inserted them to get drunk faster? Same happens with those chemicals that just get soaked up by a girls interior. But even then if you would get tampons without all those negative extras would be somewhat problematic for clogging things up and - thats what the gynaecologist-mom said - it's best to only use it for sports, swimming or other reasons where they are temporarily beneficial and then change back to pads afterwards.

    • Oh yeah, for pads also the same as for tampons - even though it's mostly on the outside: Preferably without any additions like perfum.
