The only thing that's usually consistent is that a woman's 1st baby is smaller than her 2nd and later babies. That was true in my case, too, although the difference wasn't that big in my case. Srsly, whenever anyone mentions a "big dick" and then talks only about length, I can't help but think that person has pretty close to zero sexual experience and is just talking out their rear end. Width/girth makes much more of a difference to the actual sensation, for reasons that are probably obvious. If a woman has strong preferences there, then, ok, THAT makes sense. All very true, but length many times denotes girth but not in all cases. I've met very few guys who had great thickness without also packing a few extra inches in length. So I think we tend to generalize. I can think of one guy in college that had a super thick dick with about six inches. Like you say, everything you need in a small package but rare as albino blackbirds.
