Why was my boyfriend attracted to my armpits?

my ex boyfriend had this HUGE thing for my armpits. it all started the one time we made out, he was licking my chest and shoulders and he took a few licks of my armpit, I didn't think anything of it then. about 3 months later when we started having sex, he would constantly mention how sweaty I was, but he hinted it in a good way. every time during sex he would lick my sweaty armpits. it got to the point where we would have "armpit sex" it became an obsession.
