Is this considered rough sex?

Okay, so having sex with my boyfriend is a regular thing, about once a week except me 'not-so-special' week. I kind of feel bored when he just rolls on top of me and pulls me up to him to have sex and I've been trying to spice it up a bit. So what I do is challenge my boyfriend. After we make out and we're kind of grinding a little bit, I'll pull away for a bit, then I'll lean over and whisper something along the lines of "I bet you couldn't get my pants off." Then of course, he wants to prove me wrong and proceeds to hold me down and I find after that, he seems to go a little harder at sex. And lately, he's been trying new positions, such as holding my legs over his shoulders while he's on top, or standing at the side of the bed, etc. etc. etc. I'm just wondering is this considered rough sex? Or semi-rough sex? What are your ideas/experiences/thoughts about rough sex? Any new positions I could try? Thanks in advance! =)

Rough or semi-rough is your call; most sexual labels are, at best, fluid, and at worst meaningless and useless.

"Rough" could be anything from an intimidating stare to carving open your lover's flesh. It's good, then, to come to some agreement on how rough "rough" gets; if he pulls out a feather duster and she pulls out a meat hook--that's his dumb *ss.

Suggestion: look around the house with a dirty eye. You can pinch and poke, bind and blind, tickle and paddle, with stuff just lying around. Just apply your mind to it.

P.S.: PLEASE do some reading on safety. Hurting your partner isn't something you want to learn about from experience. Jay Wiseman's SM101 is a classic starter text.

I suppose the word rough is different for everyone, but from what you describing that just sounds like having sex.
