If You're Sexually Active, How Often Do You Get Tested For STDs?

In the past, I have talked to a lot of people about sex... because that is what guys do. We talk about sex. HOWEVER... I was shocked to find out how many of my friends DON'T use condoms when they have sex with random people. I was also shocked to hear how easily my female friends don't require their partners to wear a condom after having sex for a the second time with that partner.

Like, for example, my female friend told me that she met a random guy at the bar and fucked him. They wore a condom that time. They had sex again a week later, and she let him go inside her without a condom and she used birth control. She said she asked the guy if he was a clean and that was it.

HERE'S THE IRONY:
Every time I have sex, I used a condom. I have never had sex without a condom. I also get tested for STDs every time I have sex with a new partner.

All my friends, despite their recklessness don't have an STD. I challenged them to get tested and they came back clean.

I recently got tested again because I had sex a few weeks ago, and I came back positive for Genital Herpes!!! So, basically, my sex life is over before it really even got started -_-.

  • All the more reason why I refuse to have sex outside marriage. EVER. That is how my late mother passed away because she ended up with an STD at an early age. And the guy she lost her virginity to never informed her that he had sex with 5 other prostitutes before they even met. Eventually, she had the warts removed by surgery, but it turned into a slow but rapidly progressing cervical cancer over the short years of her young life. And died last year. This month marks her first-year anniversary since her death. All for something she could have avoided. Condoms cannot fully protect you.     And what makes it worse that they get offended when you request to see the papers of when they got tested, and when was the last time they got tested? Okay, I thank you for sharing your interpersonal experiences with this. Because this is what's really happening.

  • I've never gotten tested, I'm a virgin. Well at least you've been doing well testing yourself, but in hindsight it might've been beneficial to get your new partner tested before you guys slept together. At least you know now and won't be unknowingly spreading it. I hope things get better for you.

  • I get tested once a year and accidentally clicked another option. But damn, that's terrible I'm so sorry. I always use a condom with actual sex but when giving a blowjob I don't.

    Recently I've also started dating someone and had sex for the first time with her. We didn't use condoms and both hadn't been tested previously but trusted one another since our previous sex partners were STI free so we decided to go bareback.

  • No condom means no sex... stick with handjobs if no condom is available. You should not need to get tested if he always uses condoms. You can get an STD from oral sex though.

    Every 3 months is good, but you gotta Ask yourself Why are you fucking that much? Keep 1 or 2 dudes but don't get reckless, and your dudes gotta know they ain't exclusive

    • Your boyfriend might have STD tho. STD test works even if you only sleep with one person. My friend was virgin and always had sex with her first boyfriend and she got STD cuz he cheated.
