Pretty much as you said. If I ever do find a porn I like I generally only watch it if the girl is away, and at that point the pornography is a visual aide that I use to help me think of my girlfriend and what I'd like to do with her.
See the reason I don't watch porn very often because really I kinda need the video to be something that reminds me of my girlfriend. I need the girl to have a similar build (which is a rare find if you knew what my girlfriend looks like) and maybe have a few features I can identify with. Sadly though without something like that I find myself not getting into it, and the visual aide is lost. So I go back to stroking it without a visual aide.
You might think that this is pathetic or creepy or something. Sadly it's the truth. I'm kinda dedicated to my woman. So it's really hard to just stroke to random porn most of the time. It's how I am. Sorry to say. Also the only other reason I might check out porn is to get some ideas of new things to experiment with, between me and my girl in future, but then again most of that is in the past, as I think I've done everything I've set out to try, most of it with my current girlfriend, and as porn is seldom that creative I don't think there's many ideas to go searching for.
Not all guys are like me. some are literally addicted. Some see it as a thing to be ashamed of. Some use it as an escape. Some use it as a means to fantasize about fucking other girls, some use it as a fantasy but they swap out the guy with themselves and/or the girl with his girl. Some also use it like it was instructional (but those people are generally morons). Some people use porn as inspiration. Heck some even use it like it was a form of mental Viagra.
Bottom line is, I do use it for the reasons I say I do, but not everybody is me. I say it's really up to you to believe him or not. He could easily be telling the truth, but that's your judgment call in the end.
