What's the difference between circumcised and uncircumcised?

I mean dies it look like different? It for Girls feels different? Has it pros or cons? I'm curious about what it's like to be circumcised or not.

  • The difference is that if you're uncircumcised you have a foreskin and if you are circumcised, you don't. But I'm guessing you're asking more about practical differences and you know at least a bit about the anatomy.

    Does it look different? Yes it does. If you're uncircumcised the foreskin envelops and covers the glans (the head of the penis). Without the foreskin, the glans is always exposed.

    Some people have more foreskin than others and the glans may be partially uncovered or it might be totally covered and the foreskin may even hang over the end. There's a lot of variation so you can't assume that if you've seen one, you've seen them all.

    When a guy gets an erection the penis expands but the foreskin doesn't causing it to "fill out", if you follow me. If the foreskin is short, the glans may be fully exposed and it might look pretty similar to a circumcised penis. If it's long the guy may have enough foreskin to have full coverage even when totally erect.

    I'm not a girl so I don't know for sure if it feels different for girls (I've heard some say yes and some say no) but to the touch the foreskin is very soft on the outside and very smooth on the inside (like the inside of your cheek). The foreskin acts sort of like a natural masturbation sleeve. It glides back and forth easily with your hand (or vagina). I assume to a girl it would feel smoother inside her. Less friction and rubbing and more of a gliding feel. I've also read the foreskin acts like a seal keeping lubrication inside the vagina.

    For me personally, having foreskin is awesome. There's a lot you miss out on that you'd never know about if you got circumcised early in life. People say it enhances pleasure because it makes the glans more sensitive (and it does) but what most people don't understand is that the foreskin itself is capable of feeling pleasure and it's amazing. The inner foreskin is full of nerve endings that respond to touch differently than the glans does. It feels great and nobody should be deprived of that.

  • - Circumcised takes longer to get disgusting when the guy doesn't use proper hygiene. Uncircumcised requires simple daily cleaning.

    - Uncircumcised is morally the right thing to do as in not taking away the choice of the boy. It should also be "my body, my choice" for boys.

    - Uncircumcised is more sensitive. Imagine your clitoral hood being removed and your clitoris constantly exposed to the outside and thus developing a thicker skin on it. Yep, the same happens to the head of the penis. Thats why they look that dry.

    - There is one study showing that circumcised is less likely to get HIV. Though that study is highly questioned in it's methodology.

    - There was an interview with pornstars a while ago who answered if they prefered circumcised and uncircumcised. The majority said that they prefer uncircumcised as it feels better. Probably due to decrease of unpleasant friction since the foreskin moves back and forth as well.

    - Foreskin has several other functions including protection of bacteria, self-cleaning, keeping the head more moist, etc.

    • I forgot to add that circumcision is done with minor anesthesia, because newborn can't handle a full anesthesia. Thus they are forced to go through the pain.

  • The two are different and women's preferences are also different. Expressing a preference for circumcised men will often result in considerable hate being directed your way by uncircumcised men as if you were actively running around circumcising the already circumcised men (who were circumcised as babies by their parents, you having had nothing to do with that).

    • Not to bash you, but the issue is comparable to the mothers that deem a cut girl better and more pure then an uncut girl. As long as there are mothers that think that a cut penis is better as an uncut newborn babies will still be cut.

    • @Boromir I made it perfectly clear that I am referring to adult men that already exist only, not to newborn babies. What happens with newborn babies is another subject altogether and one which I did not discuss. Your response made my point for me.

    • Can you _explain_ why someone would have a preference for a cut penis? There _will_ be people that will say things like 'it's cleaner'. Making the choice between 'cut' or 'uncut' a fairly 'harmless' choice between two equal versions is still bad as you normalize and legitimize cutting. Circumcision is only 'needed' in some rare medical situations. Justification as 'its cleaner or more esthetical pleasing' are not less worse if applied to female genital cutting...

  • When an uncircumcised guy is erect, you might not be able to notice the difference right away. Even if his foreskin is still covering the head, just slide it down and it looks the same as a cut penis.
    Uncircumcised might be more sensitive.
    There are more fun things you can do with a foreskin that you can without one.
    Forget about the idea that uncircumcised penises are less hygienic, the guy should be able to clean himself daily and there shouldn't be any problems. It's not rocket science.

  • I was circumcised at birth. I really had no choice in the matter. I like the body to remain as natural as possible. That said, I have no problems myself with sensitivity or hygiene. I like the way it looks on me. So I guess its a good thing in my instance but I don't really advocate for or against circumcision.

  • I was circumcised at the age of 23. after being circumcised I realized that I had lost some sensation in my tip (the most sensitive part). I could last longer because of it so I was pretty happy with the result. liked the way it looked too.

  • I'm glad I'm circumcised. I like the way it looks. I think the excess foreskin looks strange. Granted it might look normal if I had it all my life. It would be simpler to just Google image it. I have read that the foreskin is actually incredibly sensitive even more than the clit. I've also read that's not true. Of course, I don't know what it's like to be uncircumcised because I was circumcised when I was a baby. Regardless of whether it's better or worse I'm happy with what I got.
