Girls, how do you know your period is coming, does feel like you have to pee?

yeah i know it happens a certain time every month, but how do know when during your cycle you will pee blood? how do you determine if it is pee or not?

like do you ever think that your period blood is coming and your tampon with get it and it turns out it is actually pee?

that begs another question? what do tampons and pads actually do?

  • The only similar feeling pee and blood have is that moment where you can't hold the pee any longer and you can feel a little come out.
When a big bit of period blood comes out you tend to get confused if you suddenly have no control over your bladder and you just pissed yourself a little. Or if that was just blood.
Its the feeling of something fluid moving past the lips that does it. They DONT come from the same place.

I usually know i have mine before it comes. I just get this feeling. Not a physical one. I think its just instinct.
Though since i got the rod in my arm I've not been able to tell when its coming. Not that it does as often.

  • period blood comes out involuntarily like a nosebleed. most women can't feel it come out most of the time - that's why sometimes a woman will leak through to her clothes & not realize until other people tell her.

some women can tell it's coming because they get certain symptoms such as cramps. others know when it's coming because they track their cycles. at that time, they get ready with their pads or tampons.

tampons and pads absorb the blood so that it doesn't bleed through onto your clothes.

  • I'm lucky enough to have a period that stays on schedule, so I just use an app to track my upcoming periods. Personally, it doesn't feel like I have to pee. If anything the only thing I get are warning cramps when my period is close.

  • we don't pee blood

blood falls out of the vagina

    urine comes from the bladder

so it doesn't feel anywhere near similar

  • I get a temperature

My stomach cramps feels like diarrhoea but nothing comes out

    I sick very sleepy

    Breasts hurt

Then I feel warm liquid coming out and its my blood

    • I feel sick and very sleepy***

  • We never pee blood, dude. That's not how it works. For me, it doesn't feel like I need to pee, I start getting really bad cramps and I know it's coming. Also tampons and pads absorb the blood so you're not bleeding through your clothes all the time.

  • No that is not how it works at all..

  • I feel like punching someone. Unfortunately I feel that way every day.

  • Ok first of all you need to understand that urine and period blood come from 2 DIFFERENT holes. So, firstly no.. I personally do not mistake my need to pee for my period and vice versa. The best way to tell that my period is about to arrive is usually when I discharge and get acne on my face. But this is different with everyone.
Tampons are inserted into the vagina (not the 'pee hole') to absorb period blood. Pads have the same purpose except they line your under wear and collect blood instead of being inserted.
Hope this clears everything up! :)

  • Well, when I get my period, I never really know that I need to pee before it comes. I have a period tracker app on my iPad which help me to remember when and before it comes so I can be prepared. I have been using pads since I first got my period when I was around 13 I think. They pretty much stop all blood from staining your underwear. I have never used tampons because I've just been scared to use them. Hope this helps :) Please feel free to message me on Facebook Messenger if you have any questions. Or if you also want to message me via my profile, please be more than happy to do so :) Thanks :)

  • Urine comes out of the urethra, not the vagina. Menstruation comes from the uterus and leaves the body through the vagina. It is not peeing blood.

It doesn't feel like peeing. It actually doesn't feel like much most of the time. You usually know it's started when you see a little blood on the toilet paper or panties. You may have predicted it coming because of timing, cramps, mood, etc.

Tampons soak up blood in the vagina, and pads soak it up when it leaves the vagina. Menstrual cups catch it and hold it inside the vagina.

  • It's not like pee at all. Although it's not good to hold your pee in, it's still very POSSIBLE to do so. It's literally IMPOSSIBLE to hold your period in. It just flows. The pad/tampon absorbs the blood so it does not get on ur underwear and your pants/skirt/dress/shorts.

    • I'm sorry but this is the cutest question I've read on here today lol. Sometimes guys cluelessness about women things can be cute to me.
