I think part of it being degrading. It doesn't mean your guy ACTUALLY disrespects women. The bedroom is a safe place to play out kinky fantasies with a consensual partner-but a mature adult can differentiate between a fantasy and a reality. Well nowadays girls just let it happen with little to no resistance. Back in the day you had to really be putting it down for a woman to let that happen. It's definitely a turn on for most.
