Why is sex so important to guys?

Yes, I am still a 22 year old virgin. I want to give my virginity to someone who loves me or marriage.Anyways, I got dumped because sex was an issue. But my thing is if I still have sex with I a guy, I still am going to be dumped anyway. People still cheat no matter if I do have sex.I am very loyal person. So sex is something I really feel comfortable doing if the person is loyal.So why is sex so important, when a guy is still going to cheat or dump you if you do or dont?

It's not JUST guys. All I'm doing right now is having sex but if I were to get back into a romantic relationship, sex would be important. I can't see myself dating a virgin or something unless he was like amazing and out of this world fantastic and we connected. If he's just okay and I just like him but I'm not head over heels into him, then that isn't worth giving up sex.

Thats just one guy. Look for guys who are into things you're into and who have the same values and morals that you do. Then you'll be happy and won't have to worry about this.

Not everyone cheats. I mean I'll be honest, I sleep with a lot of married men, guys with girlfriends, etc. but there are guys I know who are attracted to me but maintain distance and just keep things at friendship. They are loyal. In my opinion, I don't think the men/sometimes women I sleep with that are involved with other relationships really love their significant others. I know that when I am in a relationship its a totally different situation - I have never and would never cheat on someone esp. not someone I love. You can love more than one person at a time, but if you do that's when you need to step back and sort out your feelings so they don't get any more hurt than they already will by the possibility of you leaving them. Figure out your mess first. That is unless you're in a group relationship then that's different.

I am sorry but sex is important period.  I would never marry a guy that I didn't have good sexual chemistry with.  Be tied down to a lifetime of horrible sex, uh NO.  It doesn't make him a bad guy because he wouldn't wait, just move on to someone who will.   He probably thinks the same as me sexual, emotional, intellectual, and physical chemistry are equally important.  You can love/like someone a lot , but if there is no sexual chemistry , in my opinion you are just friends.  again wait for the right guy if that is important to you, but put down people who think the way I do.  Sex is not just important to guys, I ama chick and its important to me too

i think sex is important to some guys because they physically needs it.

sex is a sacred thing. it is done by a 2 individuals who are married. I think you should keep your virginity until you're married. it is the most wonderful gift for your husband in the future. and sex is not a baseline to show your love for your boyfriend. you can show love in many ways. you can show love even without having sex. in my opinion.

Why is sex important to you? It clearly is, or doing it wouldn't be a big deal. The most basic instinct and biological drive of the human organism is to reproduce. For men, that means their hormones, instincts, and psyches work together to find opportunities to spread their seed as often as possible. For women, it means their hormones, instincts, and psyches work together to find a seed spreader who is also likely to provide the commitment and resources necessary to get them through pregnancy, birth, and raising a child until it's old enough to boot out of the cave. Those lead to different priorities at different times in life with regard to sex, but sex is important to both because it's the meaning and purpose of life.

That said, I think your last statement is telling. Your issue isn't sex, it's distrust of men. If you really believe that every man is going to cheat or dump you, then whether or not you have sex is probably not the primary dysfunction in your relationship. No one is going to be loyal and committed if they feel like you're just waiting on them to fail. That might be worth spending some time thinking over.

I mean, physically it is awesome (I mean, you like orgasms, right?). Also, society let's guys do whatever they want without reservation, so while girls are told to be more reserved with their sexuality, guys aren't. But, really, I think sex is important from a mental stand point as much as anything. I feel affirmed, with a sense of relief (a mental relief, not physical), and like I'm truly cared about.

I don't think all guys cheat, I think sh*tty guys cheat.

You have some trust issues, obviously.  You're a virgin but you will sleep with someone that is loyal, which is kind of impossible to know.  How do you know you will be comfortable with having sex if you've never had sex?  And if you figure all guys cheat then you're going to be a virgin for a long time.  Get over your hang ups first before you go and prejudge someone that might be a great person.
