While I don't really like the term "slut", if I had to say what makes someone a slut, it would have more to do with someone's attitude/the reasons why they do sexual things than what they do sexually or the number of sexual partners they've had. In that sense, I think someone can be "slutty", even if they're a virgin.

This might blow your mind a little, but that's exactly what I'm saying. Being called a slut is generally a negative thing. To me, the negative part of it isn't about the number of people you've been with, it's the reasons behind your behaviour. If you have sex because you have low self-esteem and are trying to feel better about yourself through sex or the attention you get from it, if you're trying to make people like you, if you're doing it because you think sex is all you have to offer...

Or any reason other than because you want to and enjoy it, then I see that as negative. If you have sex with people because you want to and you enjoy it, and you engage in safe sex, then who am I judge you negatively based on an arbitrary number? And since I have no way of knowing why someone engages in sexual behaviours, I don't call anyone a slut because I have nothing to base my judgment on (and what purpose does calling someone a slut have anyway, besides trying to hurt someone?).

And yes a number is important because of the fact that I am not actually going to sit down and talk to a slut I don't CARE why she had sex, actually I might feel better towards her if she says its because she has low self esteem because it means shes.. just pathetic and looking for love... but since I would never talk to them to find out.. I don't need to justify my actions to anyone but myself---and I'm more than happy with the decisions I make regarding my sexuality. In your post, you said that someone called you a slut. Which means someone did judge you as a slut. If they were wrong, how do you know you aren't wrong when you judge someone else? I'll listen if you have a good reason WHY people you deem to be "sluts" deserve to be abused, but I doubt you can. You can be a good person and still enjoy having sex.
