Why is it that my boyfriend keeps his eyes open while we are intimate?

Ok, so my boyfriend keeps his eyes open while I am performing sexual acts on him. I wouldn't really have any problem with it, although I do find it weird. The real issue is that he watches me and comments on how I am not smiling. It's obviously not that I'm not happy -- it's just that I wouldn't naturally smile while doing sexual things. He has also mentioned that sometimes when we kiss he opens his eyes! Any opinions on how normal it is for a guy to be like this and if I should smile just to get him to stop commenting. He brings it up almost every time and it really bugs me. Any help would be greatly appreciated! Thanks!

My boyfriend also keeps his eyes open while I do sexual stuff to him. Except when he's REALLY close to cumming. And I'm pretty much the same. He always closes his eyes when we kiss, but SOMETIMES I'll open mine a little for a few seconds; the look on his face while he kisses me is so sweet, I love to see it :3 not to mention it turns me on, lol. As for the smiling... How would you like it if he was to pleasure you, and never once smiled? If he always looked apathetic, or looked like it's a boring chore to him? Like he was just going through the motions, getting it over and done with so HE could get HIS pleasure? I'm pretty sure you'd feel unloved, insecure, and used like a sex object. You'd feel bad that he doesn't enjoy giving you pleasure. You'd question whether he even LIKES giving you pleasure, or even cares about your feelings at all. THAT is why he wants you to smile. He's not pestering you about you not smiling because he WANTS to be annoying; he says that stuff because he doesn't know why you're not smiling. Because happy = smile = good, and no smile = not happy = bad. You not smiling is most likely making him feel unloved or unappreciated, or making him think you don't enjoy giving him pleasure. If you smiled, then it would confirm to him that you DO enjoy pleasuring him.

So yea. He probably feels insecure or awkward that you don't smile. I say, either start smiling SINCERELY, or tell him in very plain terms that you DO enjoy pleasuring him. Or else he will keep asking, or at the worst; start to feel like you hate sex and he will stop asking for it :/

my ex deff didn't do that. he keeps them shut, well at least I think he does. Umm maybe if you aren't comfortable with him staring or with his eyes wide awake, deliver it as a joke by saying ' hey.. close your eyes now and then.. ' or 'how am I meant to smile when I'm too busy'.. I don't know haha

I do the same thing as your boyfriend, mostly during sex because I like eye contact and love the look of pleasure that shows in a girls eyes while having sex. Seeing that look in a girls eyes is one of the biggest turn-ons when having sex, it makes for a deeper emotional connection for me.

Now girls I have sex with and don't look in the eyes I have no emotional connection with to begin with, to me then it's just sex.

The answer to this is Guys like to watch as they tend to get off more and enjoy it more to see that you are enjoying pleasing them... as for kissing not sure last I checked people close their eyes I myself do not open them while kissing but I do watch as my woman is pleasing me :)

What you are missing is that MAN ARE VISUAL and we enjoy visual observations as we would do mental imagination. You probably prefer mental reflection or imagination but he prefers visual observations. And it is okay, I guess.
