yep..til marriage...or POSSBILY...a highly committed relationship...but I feel this way: If I am willing to have sex with a girl...then I most liekly would be willing to propose first...I mean that wher eI think sex belongs...I am totally against abortion...so with the risk of pregnancy..I say don't fool around in that way (I would be open to oral sex etc.) unless your at least willing to have a child...I'm not saying once you get married you do nothing but pump out babies...but you decide "ok, we'll use birth control...but if pregnanct does occur...then we're having a baby, and that's that".

As a teen I waited about a year with my first girlfriend before intercourse and about 8 months with my second. Both were virgins. Both relationships were sexually active without intercourse before we had intercourse.
After these relationships a month or two became more typical, with a variety of virgins and non virgins.
The guy I am [ was ? ] talking to waited until I was ready. I've known him for almost 4 years, but have been talking for over 1 1/2 years. About half way in, I thought I was ready and we had made plans to get together, but I stared having second doubts and basically blew up in his face...lol Surprisingly, he was OK with me freaking out and canceling at the last minute. We still continued to talked afterward.
I was supposed to be "deflowered" that last week of December, but due to technical difficulties, it didn't happen.

My boyfriend of four months says he can wait but beause of the other men iv'e had short term relationships with I have a hard time believing him so I occasionally feel like I am wasting his time. He assures me I'm not. and knowing he is the only guy that has lasted the most amount of time without complaining that sex isn't in our daily schedule makes me like him even more. So they are out there, hopefully this one I have stays true.

Theres more to it than that Music. Over a lifetime of experience and observation I have learned that a lot of human behavior is based in custom instead of logic. When one uses logic to dictate ones actions they are often different. I have often asked girls what is gained by waiting some unspecified time period. Nobody has ever shared a tangible benefit with me. Hell, girls can't even agree on what time period to use, so how do you decide? I say have sex when your horny, but be safe. :)
Gains from waiting: I want lose any self respect by knowing I just "threw it away" to some random guy. I'm not waiting til marriage, but I do want to make sure it's the right guy the first time. The last thing I want is to regret my first time. A lot of guys have dropped me simply because I told them I was going to wait. It's rather frustrating knowing that a lot of guys don't give girls like me a chance.
If a guy truly loves you he would wait for you no matter how long it is.
If you were thinking love comes before sex, you are pretty gullable. Love takes a bit of time.

You are 16. you don't posess the life experience to recognize the difference. it is almost a certainty that you will "think" you love some guy, he will throw it into you a few times, and then move on to another girl. It is not silly because I do not believe in it. It is silly because it is silly. If she becomes offended by this then so what? It is the reality we live in and she has to confront it sooner or later. Claiming something is not silly when it is just makes you either a lier or to dense to see it.

Yeah, it's no wonder we get a bad rap as being dogs instead of gentlemen. :P Believe me, some of us are willing to wait, even when the world seems to put pressure on us to lose it early. What I don't get is why nobody has enough respect for the women they are interested in, to wait until he can make an honest woman out of her. Having sex without commitment is like essentially calling her a slut. It just seems disrespectful...both to her and him.

I would wait a month or two, maybe even three or four if things were going really well. If I thought I was being played I'd disappear almost instantly though.
I should add that for 3-4 months to happen she would have to be the love of my life and perfect in every way. All too often girls who 'make guys wait' are just playing control games.
If she's a virgin then she's not playing a "control game" trying to withhold sex to make you her puppy dog. It's obviously because her virginity means something to her. 3-4 months as a maximum seems pretty unreasonable to me. As a virgin myself, I'll be the first to admit that I don't fully understand sexual urges (the whole "You have no idea what you're missing" thing) but I think that if I weren't a virgin, I'd still wait at least two months before I had sex with my boyfriend.
So to ask a virgin to do it in that time period seems unreasonable and callous to me.
Only when she's ready. I'm a virgin too. Sex should be a mutual thing, not just about getting your bit. I would want her to be totally comfortable.
