Why is it that people in the military sleep around like crazy?

im in the navy and all everyone does it go to strip clubs and adult streats. no one seems to understand what it mean to be in a relationship. I guess to them evethings a little game. iv been to 5 diff countrys and not sleept with anyone. I am single and not my best friend said she will marry me but she won't do the longdistnce relationshp. its not that since my religion says no cheating it sense or the gods will not grant you a new life. its also me iv seen people hurt each other when they sleep around and I'm not the type of guy to hurt anyone because its really hard for me to, now fighting man to man is defferent that's just a compitition sorry for my spelling

The answer is quite simple: YOUTH! It's the same scenario when going to college. You are away from parents and the suffocating demands of moral society. Now that you are out on your own, it's party time! In the military, the frame of mind is that if one is going to die, may as well make the most of life while you can. In addition, being away from home and discovering a foreign country you once thought was make-believe back in social studies class is just a perfect excuse to go crazy.

College is little different. You would never imagine being surrounded by so many young, beautiful people when you hometown only had a few dozen at the most(big cities notwithstanding). Far away from mom, dad and church, exposure to new ideas, cultures and women you once thought didn't exist, with easy access to beer...BINGO!

This is a phase that we all go through, including myself as I was once insanely horny in my army days(hell, I'm a horndog from hell now). When you reach maybe 26 or so, this phase gets old.

Don't worry about what others do, stay true to yourself. If sleeping around isn't your thing, then that makes you different. And that is a good thing all around.

I'm not in the military but I can tell you that such behavior is not limited to just people in the military.

On another note, it may occur more in the armed forces because when people are away in a far country it's easier for people to do things without expecting the consequences from back home. It's almost as if the distance in between is like a given sense of freedom that allows them to detach themselves from their previous responsibilities. There are no boundaries in view.

For most I'd say that it's the lack of knowing how to have self control when it comes to sexuality. Also they don't seem to care about the consequences perhaps because they suspect that there would be similar behavior back at home.

Look at this way, their in war, they are always fighting and will be in pain one way or another, either physically/emotionally, they just want to pleasure themselves, they are also always on the move so they do`nt want to stick to one person, their young and want to have some fun

Military guys are hot but most girls do not want a proper relationship with them because they are more likely to die sooner than an average person and people just don`t want that kind of pain

Well I'm not a guy nor on the military, but I'm just gonna guess and say it's because the military is mostly male and they thus barely get to see a naked girl. especially when they're overseas.

You know like sailors a few centuries back that we're stuck on a ship with each other for weeks or even months and started seeing mermaids.

Idk is there conscription in you're country? If not, I'd just say military service seems to attract a certain type of people, but honestly I have no idea

I used to talk to this guy in the Army and he had a girlfriend and talked to so many different girls I mean he literally made plans to come see me on his little break thing, before he goes home to his girlfriend. I wasn't really happy with that so I stopped talking to him

Well I'm gonna agree a little with the other answer and say it may be because they are mostly male, and when males are around each other they tend to turn into animals ha. Also, this might really be taken wrong, but because they are serving the country, they may think they have the right to do anything because they are offering themselves, therefore the country owes them, therefore they can do anything they want? Or else, they just think they can get away with anything and their girlfriends and wives at home will never know.
