Why do guys tell sex jokes to certain girls?

There's a group of guys at my school and they like to be goofy and tell sex jokes to each other. Typically, they don't tell sex jokes to the girls, but for some reason they tell them to me. I'm already part of the group, but it seems a few in particular like to tell sex jokes to me. By telling me to kiss their white pasty ass (silly part, I have a white pasty ass myself. lol), to toss his salad, or just say hey some long silly dirty name. (such as bitch ass motherf***ing whore or whore ass son of a bitch). I know they're being silly and stuff, but why to me? And they're always telling me to go away or ugh god, but yet they like me around since I am always catching certain ones looking for/at me. Why sex jokes? Are they supposed to turn me on?

  • Actually, guys tell sexual jokes to people they feel comfortable around. In human behavior, it's one of the most obvious male proxy behaviors that implies that the man feels comfortable around the person he is acting (contrary to social mores and norms) with.

When a person makes a sexual joke, he becomes vulnerable to social criticism and other serious consequences. For example: you would never say a sexual joke during a job interview, or even on your first day of work. However, what does the uttering of a sexual joke sexual joke after several years on the job suggest?

An employee would never put his feet on the boss's desk. However, an employer may do so. The same way the employer's gesture implies (and flaunts) "power," the employee's sexual joke also "advertises" the nature of the human relationship.

When the sexual joke is said for the first time, it's really a test. The man saying it is implying that "he feels comfortable enough with whatever relationship exists, that the deviation from social norms will be accepted and enjoyed for its humor value." The recipient may then reject the man's assumption of comfort in the relationship, or accept the man's assumption of comfort in the relationship.

Generally, men do not feel comfortable around women they want to have sex with. So, if a man is saying sexual jokes (distinguished from sleazy sexual pick-up attempts) to a woman, it is almost 99% certain that he doesn't want to have sex with that woman. He is saying that he feels comfortable enough to deviate from social norms with this woman. Analyzing it further, that means he feels comfortable enough making her a social offer, that he cares little whether she accepts or rejects. If she also feels comfortable around him, good for her, they can be friends. If she's insulted or offended, or otherwise weird, good for her, they don't have to talk again.

When a guy views a woman as someone he "wants" to have sex with, he does not feel comfortable around her. He now "risks to lose her," even though he means nothing to her yet. If he says something stupid, she's gone. So, a sexual joke is probably the last thing you'd hear coming out of a guy's mouth (assuming he wants to have sex with the girl).

This also holds true for guys, because it's a form of social bonding for men. When a guy doesn't want to be friends with an other guy, he "behaves" by all the proper social rules. He doesn't want to "create" or "establish" a comfortable relationship with some random guy he doesn't feel like talking to again.

    • Thank you. That helped me out a lot. :)

  • because you laugh at their jokes and like Nameless said they want to get laid but don't know how to talk to a female any other way.

    • Eh, you know that's how a lot of guys are. Complex, but simple enough. :)

    • Yup, just simple child-like trick. It's like when kids find out Russel Peters is a comedian and want to make everyone think their funny be reenacting him. Hope I helped. Good luck.

  • Does that change if you know the girl is interested in you as more than a friend? Would that make him do it more? Or less?

  • i never thought about it but probably to feel cool and turn girls on get their attention

    • Yeah, that makes sense. Since they have to show off how manly they are around each other, especially if a girl's there.
