Is it normal to have bumps around your vaginal opening?

I've never really paid that much attention to my vagina, but I noticed some small bumps and I had a look at them with a mirror, they are kind of like taste buds. Is it normal to have bumps there? or should the skin be smooth? what is the skin like around your vaginal opening?

  • Not sure where you are looking, but it got my interest up. I have a mirror right now and this is what I see! My outer lips are smooth with a few red bumps (ingrown hairs), my inner lips are very wrinklely (?) and when I spread the lips to see the vagina I see these bumps you are talking about. I would say it is quite normal. If you are gentle feeling around in that area you can also feel them.

Seems it is quite normal and nothing to fret about.

    • Thanks for your reply. The area I'm talking about is the skin around the vaginal opening (the hole). I have a row of tiny bumps there, like as tiny as a taste bud. Just wondering if other woman have them or if they might be something like genital warts? I'll keep an eye on them to see if they change in size ect.

    • It appears that what you are talking about is the same bumps that are at the entrance and inside my vagina also. Wouldn't spend much time worrying about them.

  • Sounds normal, but if you are concerned just take a trip to the gyno.:)
