Is an hourglass figure really that appealing to men?

I've always been told that I'm a pretty girl but I was a bit chubby. After losing quite a lot of weight, I've realized that I have an hourglass figure. I'm a small girl but I have big boobs, hips/butt and a really small waist. So, there's this cute guy in my class. He didn't really pay much attention to me in the past but now I feel like he keeps looking at me. Especially when I wear clothes that show my figure or a little bit of cleavage (nothing too revealing). When we occasionally make eye contact, he has this sort of half-smile which makes me wonder what he's thinking. So I guess my question is: GUYS: What goes on in your head when you see a pretty girl with an hourglass figure. And what could this guy's half-smile possibly mean!? Thanks to anyone who helps =)

hips to waist ratio is the first thing we notice. we can spot it from across the room. its science actually. both males and females are programmed to notice certain physical attributes in the opposite sex. its how we know they are healthy for mating. its a genetics thing. I saw a show on national geographic. its called "the science of sex" where they explained a bunch of interesting stuff. you can probably see it on youtube. they also did a study where they showed a group of guys two pictures of a group of women. one where the women was on her period and the other where she wasnt. all the guys chose the picture of the girl when she was on her period. her body goes through slight visible changes and somehow they become more physically attractive. weird huh?

totally know what you mean, the increase in estrogen makes my boobs and thighs bigger. And I'm skinny so its awesome! best of both worlds, sorry tmi

no not at all. I find stuff like that very interesting. brings back the "animal" part in us. we chose mates just like other species do. kinda lol

OK. my FAVORITE part of a girl's figure is her curves, so if she tucks in a shirt, belts it at the waist, or does anything that gives her a defined waistline, it's a HUUUUUGE turn on! That goes for girls with any shape figure, and an hourglass shape, IMHO, has the best curves for that. You sound really pretty, & it sounds like this guy is REALLY noticing & starting to like you, nad could be wondering what if or if he should make his move. If someone that pretty made eye contact with me, I'd have a smile on my face too, but it'd probably be a lot more than half... xP

hips to waist ratio is the first thing they notice so doesn't matter your size that's what attracts men even tough they aren't so consious about it...

a lot of research has been done and it all shows that consistently waist to hip ratio is the biggest factor in determining whether men think a woman is sexy.

I personally find the hourglass very attractive especially if her stomach is very toned. and in that case the bigger the better with everything else (well butt and chest in particular).
