I personally despise teen pregnancy, a girl should wait till they are at least 27-37 before having kids, a lot of girls that want to have kids are just plain idiotic, im sorry to say, but they are. Accidents, I understand but even that's not an excuse, don't have sex unless you take precautions, birth control was invented for a reason. I am 17 and I haven't had sex at any time at all, I'm a virgin because im saving myself for a special someone, not all girls feel the same way i do but that doesn't change the fact that they should be really fucking careful instead of be idiotic just because a condom doesn't feel the same, use birth control, that's what it was invented for and is more effective than condoms and even allow you to not have to wear a condom. It angers me when i see teens my age and younger having sex unless its someone really special to them and who they know they can count on rather than a boyfriend they date for a month and then decide to have sex with, its reckless and its irritating. My apologies for ranting its just i wish some girls would be smarter when it comes to sex and be more careful. What especially angers me is girls at 13-17 who have sex all the time, its like 'WHY? -_-' but hey, not my life, just my opinion. :|
I understand accidents do happend but I hear a lot of them say that they just want a baby sometimes they don't even care who they sleep with just so they can have one. I find it extreamly immature because who is going to be up at 2am when the baby can't sleep? Who is going to take care of it while there still in high school? All it does is put a huge burden on there own parents to have to play mother and father to their own daughters child. This seems to be problem with a lot of things in society today. People want something so bad but they don't see the consquences it has or exactly how much work it will take.
If any girl in her mid teens is plaining on getting pregnant I suggest they spend some time baby sitting someonelses child before hand. Because I very much doubt they know exactly what they are getting themselvs into.
I think that those girls who want to get prego young are crazy. There is no way I would ever have a child unless I'm married and financially stable. But I guess I do have to blame the media these days for that. Now almost every hot teen show has young girls getting prego. It's almost as if the media is promoting it now. But other reasons for young girls wanting babies is probably for attention. The want to feel loved or important. So what better way to do that by having a child of your own that you can care for. Also these girls think that it's fun and easy and they want to try and prove a point that they are responsible to care for another human being. When in reality their not.

-They have mommy and/or daddy issues and feel unloved and they somehow believe that a baby will love them, when it's suppose to be the other way around, YOU love the baby, not the baby loves you
-They accidentally get pregnant and bring up the "I'm a God loving Christian" argument when clearly their actions say otherwise
-They were drunk or under the influence and were taken advantage of
-They think it's cool because shows like "16 & pregnant" and "Teen Mom" actually glorify it by turning the bad into a "cool" thing and making those girls famous
-They think sex will make a guy stay or love them and when that fails they resort to having a baby
Yeah I especially agree with your last point. I've seen that happen to a few girls at my school. It's just sad.
I am in high school and I love the idea of having a baby- but only in like what 15 yearsish? And only when I am financially stable and married. I just love babies and children. I know how much work it takes- I volunteer at a Preschool- I don't know what it feels like to do it 24/7 but I have considered it and know that it will be almost impossible to handle- but when the conditions are right it is worth it. There is just such a high level of love that you can get from a child and if your own life lacks love- the idea of a child is especially attractive.
I see what you're saying. I want a baby too...after I'm married, out of college, and have a job though. But a lot of girls don't think about that. They want a baby while in high school and I think that's wrong because their parents will be taking care of him/her while the kid is at school.
It's just so hard to do these things out of order- but I think that most people that have parents take care of the kids did not plan them in the first place. If you have that much support from your parents then - in general - you have enough love to sustain you until you are ready to have a kid later.

The one I hear the most that they have a hard time admitting to is because they think the baby will make up for the love that they lack in life. We all have to admit.. it's nice to love and to be loved in return. But in their little twisted minds, they think that having a baby will cure that loneliness.

I think it is just glorified way to much on TV these days... The dolls that young girls play with growing up are usually babies as well. I think that is the major reason behind it.
Hormones play a big part and yea we don't lool at the bigger picture we see babies as fun and cute not all the difficulties that are conected with it.

This is because physically they are in perfect shape for birthing a child once they reach late teens.
Though the way society is now, it turns out to be NOT the best time for them to birth, their body doesn't know this.

I don't think they actually want to be pregnant, I think it's more that they feel they should have sex because that's what "mature couples do" and they end up getting pregnant.
