Boobs are a private part because somewhere along the road society decided they should be. When you cover something up and treat it as private, it becomes more appealing because it's something you're "not supposed to see". Of course, the fact that women have them and men don't does make them more appealing as well, but I think we could essentially cover up and sexualize any body part and after enough time, people would feel the same way about that part as they do breasts.
I don't think boobs should have to be private parts, but they are. Women keep their boobs "all hidden and private", even if they don't agree with it, because 1) a lot of men would stare, and some might act inappropriately toward us, and 2) other women (and some men) would judge us negatively, because it's so ingrained into our society that breasts should be kept covered and private. It would take a long time for society to change its views on breasts. Right now, you can't even take a tit out to breastfeed without someone staring or getting offended.
They're a more "attractive" part of the body to men that can receive a lot of sexual attention. Some girls want that attention, some girls don't. Legs are just kind of safer, like other body parts, because even though they can be sexy too, they're a bit more modest. It's mostly a modesty thing. Sometimes when I've worn lower tops with like a push-up bra or something - yeah, I can feel sexy - but sometimes feel a bit embarrassed too. I can't help it. I'm mostly modest by nature, and I'm not used to showing a lot off, so depending how much is showing, my comfort level fluctuates. I guess it's part of becoming a woman too, is getting used to getting noticed. But generally, it's "such a big deal" because of girls who want to have that sense of modesty or uphold a specific image, etc.
Biologically and originally speaking, they are NOT "private parts". But according to society and fetishes of people oversexualizing them, they are BLINDLY CONSIDERED "private parts".
Yeah I really don't get this either. And girls get looked at by other girls when they're showing off their boobs, as if they're doing something wrong. WTH is up with that? It gets me mad sometimes, but I believe this is something girls are brainwashed to believe. They grow up being taught that showing your boobs is bad, and that if you do it you will get classified as a slut. If you think about it, it's rather absurd.
I think they should be covered just because it's common decency to keep yourself covered, but the way people like Fox News think they will destroy the minds of children is goddamn insane.

Some people think that they are too sexual to show off. I personally don't think they are a big deal I love mine and have no issues showing them off. Yes you shouldn't walk around with them completely uncovered but also you shouldn't walk around with them hidden.

Yeah, but he's asking WHY it's so inappropriate. If women never decided to cover up, then guys would grow up with t*ts out being the norm, and so not as big a taboo as they seem to be.
I just told him why because our boobs are too appealing, too sexual looking that's why its inappropriate. Well of course if its always been out but for too long theyve been covered because it is very intimate lookin.
