  • There's something called spotting, which you can have when you're pregnant; but this typically happens not that long after you've gotten pregnant and is much lighter than a usual period.

There's also something called decidual bleeding; it's pretty rare, but can happen all the same. This basically means a woman experiences bleeding in correlation to her usual menstrual cycle - something to do with hormones, and the parts of the womb not yet being used, so it lessens as a pregnancy furthers. This is pretty similar to a period - so whilst it may technically not be a period; it's pretty much the same in symptoms and could very easily be confused. This is basically vaginal bleeding a shedding what the majority of a period consists of - the lying of the womb.

  • Belgie that is not true, you can´t have the period during pregnancy, what you are talking about is not the period it is vaginal bleeding, two very different things and your link doesn´t support your theory, that link is talking about two possible explanations for periods during pregnancy making your state of having the period during pregnancy false, so before talking or posting a link make sure it is true and that your link supports your thinking I recommend for you to read this:

  • It is a myth, it is impossible, here you have a link on this topic: link

  • If A is the opposite of B can A happen at the same time as B? No.

You can bleed and spot while pregnant. You obviously can't discard the egg and have it fertilized in your uterine wall however.

  • Yes, it's possible. It's rare, but it can happen. Some girls have given birth and not known they were pregnant.

    • No, it is not possible, ever.

    • Do we have to dig up examples from the medical literature for you Brandan?

    • There are two possible explanations for periods during pregnancy:

Hormone levels. In some women, the hormone levels in pregnancy aren't high enough to prevent the lining of the womb being lost in those areas where the placenta isn't attached. So sometimes a woman will have one episode of bleeding or more in the first month or two of pregnancy (and, rarely, throughout the pregnancy).
